knock sensor
Gentlemen,
I am new to this side of the forum.......longtime user on the civic side.....but last week a 90-year-old thought stop signs were optional. Hense I bought a sight on seen 2004 Accord EXL V6. When I say I didn't look at it.... I did have my son-in-law look at it drive it.
It had/has a check engined light on, the owner stated it was an O2 sensor. I checked...no Knock sensor, by the looks of the shredded hood liner I fully suspect rodents of some sort have chewed the wires as stated in many posts. So I am asking for any hints or advice on changing the sensor, I am a fairly proficient backyard mechanic........do my own timing belts and did a head job on the civic my son drives 440K. But I am not technical....knowing the special tricks.
I was not able to find anything really good on the V6 replacement.........specific questions, will a deep well socket fit on the sensor? Do I need to "lub" the fuel rail as it goes back in? I saw a post where a guy was putting something on the injectors......
Thanks in advance for the help
Rick
