Default Accidentally seperated knock sensor

When pulling the plug off of the knock sensor I accidentally broke the black housing off of it.( the sensor is now in two pieces) Would it be possible to re-solder the two little connections on the inside?... or more importantly, would the sensor work correctly if i did this? Thanks in advance everyone.

Jason,

Thought I would share a thought...............

Considering the critical nature of the knock sensor, would you really want to take the risk of repair? Do you have an OBD-II Scanner to verify your repair?

Without a picture, it would be difficult to give a difinitive answer on the repair of your sensor damage. You need to balance the cost of a new sensor versus the cost of the engine detonating without proper feedback and control.

BigMoose
