Default problem fixed

It was a chilly night around 8pm

driving home from school
about 80 Miles away from Richmond

My car on the interstate makes a lil pop noise and starts to sound like a lawn mower

i open the hood and this was hanging out and it was sparking a little bit

(pics from the next morning)

since i don't know much about cars honestly i just figured i needed to take the spark plug out and replace everything that was messed up
so i did and it worked...

(oh and the original spark plug was gone when i opened the hood )

and i have a little dent on my hood now from when the cylinder popped up

anyways heres my daily stock 94 ex

Loose spark plug and high pressure in the cylinder. *Pop*.....that's hilarious though....I'm supprised the engine didn't stall on only 3 cylinders.....lol......yeah....that would sound like a lawnmower....

Default double check w/torque wrench

i only trust the job if i tighten plugs myself.
a few years ago my daughter had plugs replaced at a gas station. a few weeks later car had vac. leak and i found very loose plug.
also i have never been able to know how tight my plugs are by hand in my mazda-alum head- so i always confirm w/my torque wrench in all my cars now.

Torque wrench is the way to go.....I'd figure by now that'd be common sense. But as it turns out, common sense is not so common.

As stated above, torque wrench is your answer.

btw your car looks really clean, lower it and leave everything else stock and it will be absolutly beautiful!

at least it didn't dent the hood to the point where you can't fix it when it popped out...good to hear everything is OK

this actually makes me angry, because in my auto class the teacher never torques the spark plugs when he changes/checks them, but i always grab the torque wrench and do it anyways when he walks away, gotta be safe man, expecially with something that important

It all depends on what you want and what you want to do with your car. I personally do auto cross and drive my car daily so i'm going with a medium setup which is a Tein basic coil over dampener.

I have never ever used a torque wrench to tighten plugs. I have always put them in finger tight plus 1/4 turn. Never had a problem yet.... and I have owned 7 different cars.
