smokin under tha hood yo....
aight so.....i finally parked my car in the driveway...i never do cuz its too low ...but i did last night so i pulled the e-brake and put it in gear(i never do when im stopped i just have it in neutral) so as i was just about to leave i went to turn the car on forgetting it was in gear and u kno wut it did it lurched ..i put it neutral and went to start it again before it fired it it made this horrible noise...and smoke started pouring out from under the hood. so i wait a minute and pop it....one of the spark plug wire caps are just chillin there not in the cylinder at all....pull it out and the plug comes with it lol...would it trying to fire when it was like this cause it to smoke??

the spark plug came out with the wire?
if so thats not good, sounds like the threads stripped and the force of the cylinders forced the spark plug out.
yes i suppose that could cause smoke, burned fuel smoke coming out of the spark plug tubes.
if the spark plug did come out of the threads, then loook at taking the head off and fixing the spark plug threads..

true, true.
a loose spark plug will make a loud POP noise as the compression is leaving the cylinder.
retigthen plug, hopefully its not stripped and retest. you should be fine

Re: smokin under tha hood yo....
then you'd be basically driving on 3 cylinders because the first ounce of compression, that plug would blow out of the hole.

Re: smokin under tha hood yo....
i worked at a honda dealer, a guy was rebuilding a crv motor and left the spark plugs out (oops)
when he went to start it it was making lots of loud POP POP POP
its because there were no plugs in. its just the sound of the compression leaving the cylinder and popping past the wire grommets.
i doubt any damage was done unless the threads on the spark plug stripped.
reinstall plug and wire and test your car it should be fine

Re: smokin under tha hood yo....
take a tiny drop of oil, put it on a hot header. it smokes ALOT for a tiny drop.
now, look at the fact that the cylinder had a decent amount of fuel (starting uses a bit more fuel) it probably ignited as the spark plug was still in the head, there is probably some oil in the cylinder, maybe not, but at least a tiny bit, why not, oh and some condensation (water)
there's where your smoke is from, oil and fuel, and condensation burning with its easiest path to leave the cylinder, right out the top instead of the exhaust.
as i said im sure its fine
