My boss gave me a free Gsr swap for it like 6 months ago. The swap sat in my garage for 6 months. I did not want to do the swap because of the great mpg I was getting. I finally got tired of not having enuff power and did the swap maybe 2-3 weeks ago. I honestly miss the Vx motor, The gearing in the Vx was hella cool. 5th gear on the freeway was under 2500k. The gsr really needs a 6th gear or maybe an LS 5th gear. I love the power difference, MPG is a little less. Now I have to worry about getting pulled over? Was it really worth it??????
</TD></TR></TABLE>

For the power, yes.

For the loss of MPG and the gas to be spent on it, no.

If you want to sell that VX swap, let me know. There are a few people on gassavers.org looking for one in CA.

GL with the hatch!

Ya it really is, around 50 isnt bad but 60 and 70 gets horrible. Its kinda cool having power in 5th but not cool on the gas its wasting lol.

Yeah 5th gear should be a designated economy gear.

100% correct on that one!!!!! lol

I was driving the HF yesterday to and from work (due to a problem im having with my DA) and I was on my way back from the gas station after filling up, and it statrs running like ***.

Whats happening is when you push the accelerator past half throttle, it bogs and stutters like crazy. Im leaning towards a fuel problem, but who knows. Im hopeing to get some time in the day today to take a look at it, but thats after I get my DA sorted out..

Always something lol

So very true.

Sounds to me like it's possibly a spark issue. Check the plugs for wear, and check the resistance on the wires. D series are notorious for the ignitors going bad also so that could be it too. But like you said, it could also be a clogged fuel filter. THe car is old, so it could have let some dirt past the tank sock and gotten into the filter.

Good luck fixing it! Maybe if I sell enough stuff/make enough money fast enough, I'll be able to get that HF from you...I would love to have it. It would look pretty awesome with some new paint I think. I actually like the light blue on that car for some reason... Guess I'm weird or something since no one else seems to like the CRX in blue.

Ha I love the color aswell. I was going to replace both quarter panels on it, and repaint it blue if I was going to keep it. The reason I need to get rid of it is because my DA needs a ton of attention, and I have the need for a newer car at the time. There was supposed to be someone coming up today to take a look at it, but I guess not because of the weather down here. Oh well, more time to fix it.

Im def. going to pull out the plugs, thanks for the idea. I might grab a fuel filter from work tomorrow and try that as well. Anyone know if spark plugs from a b18a are the same/similar as the d15's. I know I have a couple plugs out of a b18 laying around, just wondering if I could throw them in a see if theres a difference.

Damn, that's not to good of a MPG for a VX. Fix the CEL and the car should get about 10MPG better.

Well that's not too bad considering the 1/4 mile runs. Still not too good.

I have a 92VX, but it has a b16 in it now.

I want to go back to the vtec-e though sometimes for fuel mileage.

Low 30s for fuel mileage sucks

Sometimes I just want a clean clean stock VX with really nice suspension and leaving it at that.

So glad that's what I did with mine.

Such a nice daily.

But a B16 proably is one of the better motors to swap into them if you still want decent MPG. They get pretty good mileage from the factory due to the efficient head and small displacement.

for real. every time i start thinking about selling mine because some guys locally really want it, i look at it and realize that it's almost too good of a daily. i mean, for one person, to and from work/school it's great. start adding grocheries and it turns into an ok daily. only thing is when you don't change the oil in it after awhile the mileage goes down hill fast. i think i'm coming up on 4k miles and i'm getting about 28-30

I posted that on gassavers.org. If anyone is within a state away on there, they'll take it.

I thought at first he had posted an EG with an EK front-end on it. But now the pictures are gone.

Oh well.

Pics taken a while back, now i have HX rims on there and the front end is primed...going back to the teal color tho.

Looks pretty nice, and a lot like mine.

Do you have a pic with the HX wheels on it? I'd love to pick up a set for mine.

SOund like you're getting the same mileage as me too.

Any ideas on helping my gas mileage in my b16tranny bitch?!?
Might try changing the fuel filter this week. Anything else that might help?

Does the snow have any effect on mpg??

I would make sure you have some NGK plugs in it (v-power or irridiums) with the proper heat-range. Pump up the tires to the max on the sidewall. Make sure the OEM temp thermostat is in it. Check resistance of plug wires to make sure they're still good. CHeck the cap/rotor for wear. Replace o2 sensor if it's old. Fuel filters rarely get too bad unless they're pushing over 200k mi and you run it empty a lot. A warm-air intake and a grill block will also help a lot with keeping your engine warm and getting summer mpg.

After that stuff, you should see at least a few mpg gain I'd think.

Damn thats a ton of stuff lol. I figured you'd know a bunch about that stuff. The fuel filter was replaced about a year or two ago. The o2 sensor is BRAND NEW. The plugs/wires/cap and rotor are all the same **** that came with it from japan. I havent changed any of that, haa I havent even checked any of it

I dont know, but I did do a little bit of snow drifting the past couple days I like to take advantage of the open parking lots around here lol.

The only thing is that on this tank, I let the fuel level get a little lower than the other times before I re-fueled.
