We use seafoam at work all the time. I am completely sold over their products, I would never recommend anything over seafoam

Anywho's, thought I'd give the crew a bump. I am 100% keeping the HF now, and have been fixing everything wrong over the past week. I'll be taking it for inspection next week, and I know it definatly needs a windshield There's $200+ right there. Oh well, can't wait to start driving it soon and document the mileage
I'll throw up some pics in a bit..

On the other hand, I just started calculating the mileage in the DA with my b20 swap. I've got a b16 trans with it so im not expecting very high numbers, just wondering how bad it is lol. Ill post that up too later on, I just filled up last night (31 freaking dollars later).

That's cool you're keeping the HF. You should start a "re-build" thread for it. I'd be interested to see how it goes. I'm starting to think I should get a 2nd car for if/when mine breaks. And an HF is a sure possibility for me, if I can find one not rusted to nothing.

GL with it!

After some search on here, I came up with:

1989 crx HF weights 1834
1994 civic VX weighs 2094

So a total difference of 260lbs the VX has over the HF Not too bad!

Those HFs are light! Watch out for the Si, they are actually heavier than the VX!

But the added weight of the moonroof is pretty worth if IMO...wish the VX came with one.

I don't think that is too bad actually. Check the EPA rating on the government site to see what it should be from new. Probably not much better than around a high 20s average I would guess.

The truth. I'd rather save gas money and be safe than endanger peoples lives and my own...

Save going fast for the track people! Save gas when you daily drive.

I usually go the speed limit, but if traffic is moving along on the highway, I generally will keep up with the slowest line of cars.

Its sad, but when I'm stuck in rush hour traffic, and my car idles off with the green light blinking (meaning engine is off)

I *sigh* when I have to put it back into first and start moving again, just to stop 10 feet later. haha

I wish mine would shut off like that. Would save a lot of gas in the stop and go traffic I get stuck in sometimes.

I can drive 720 kilometers with my 1.5 vtec-e. Google tells me that's 38mpg.

Re-install the stock intake, and your MPG will go up at least 2-3 MPG. Mine went up about 5 by taking off the short ram and installing the factory intake.

Check out gassavers.org if you want to set up a log of your fuel usage and lots of people there can help you with your VX. SO many people with VXs on there that are still all-stock.

The VX is so much more worth it than buying a newer hybrid also. Such a great daily driver. ANd with your current Ram, it would probably pay for itself in saving you gas within a year or two.

I had a white 92 VX a few years back, it was a great car, but I sold it when i got my 97 HX. I kind of regret it now, but i picked up a 92 CX a few months ago and it has been getting around 45-50 mpg. my best tank so far has been 54 mpg, but that was all highway.

The CX gets pretty good milage but has no power. I picked up a set of VX wheels for it and I plan to lower it when i get new tires, so hopefully the milage will increase slightly. I may try the block off plate also. Other than that I am going to leave this thing stock and enjoy saving money.

Great plan!

I just got some snow tires on a set of VX wheels for the winter, and I found that 155 80 13s are a bit skinnier than the OEM tires (to make it steer easier and coast longer), fit on the wheels perfect, and are CHEAP!

If you want a wider tires, the 175 70 13s will work, but your MPG will not be as good as it would be with the skinnier tires.

Good luck with the CX!

I knew one day that gas prices were going to sky rocket. I regret selling 2 of my VX's. Both were white.... both were clean. I had 4 white hatches in the past 2 VX's and 2 CX's... both of the CX's ended up being B swapped.

If I find a clean *** VX(yeah right), I would keep it stock and just lower it and enjoy the MPG. Too bad a lot of the VX's in my area have been raped.

I miss my little shift light on the cluster.

Exactly what I do with and plan on doing with mine.

It is pretty sad how all of the VXs have become turned into anything but OEM. There probably wasnt too many of them sold in the first place, and with how everyone loves to buy them to modify, they really are becoming rare to find.

I have a 92 Vx. It has 125k. My boss gave me a free Gsr swap for it like 6 months ago. The swap sat in my garage for 6 months. I did not want to do the swap because of the great mpg I was getting. I finally got tired of not having enuff power and did the swap maybe 2-3 weeks ago. I honestly miss the Vx motor, The gearing in the Vx was hella cool. 5th gear on the freeway was under 2500k. The gsr really needs a 6th gear or maybe an LS 5th gear. I love the power difference, MPG is a little less. Now I have to worry about getting pulled over? Was it really worth it??????
