Picking up another set of VX wheels for snow tires. Gonna probably paint these gunmetal... I think they'll look great in that color since it's damn close to the stock color, and it should look great with teal, I hope.
My car is hating these COLD temperatures and winter fuel mix. Hopefully making the intake a true warm-air intake will make this numbers go back up! Last tank was a terrible 42 MPG... 1 MPG under the EPA mixed rating for the car.

I really like the HFs. Those are pretty much the product of Honda making a car as light as possible, and making a motor that works completely off of low rpm tq. Here in the northeast, finding a CRX that's not rusted to nothing is quite a challenge.

That's amazing. You're the first person I have ever heard of who is the first owner of their VX. There are a ton of VX drivers on gassavers.org, but I don't think any of them actually had the car from new.
From new, did the VX always have that non-reponsive throttle position when the car is coming out of lean-burn? Or is that a product of age? On gassavers.org, people are stumped over whether the car is suppose to act like that, or if it's a sign of a clogged EGR system, or a worn-out o2 sensor. No one on their can say the have driven a VX from new, so hopefully you can shed some light on the topic!

Lookin pretty good. There doesn't seem to be many VXs out there that came in white. Does yours have the blue or black interior? Have you kept track of your MPG at all? I'm also thinking of getting some of those mirrors at some point. I would think they are a little more aerodynamic compared to the factory ones. How do you like them?

as long as i can remember, coming out of lean- burn its normal. luckily being a 5 speed i never really had any complaints on a z1 motors performance. all through the years people diss the vx. when its probably the best model for gas or future performance. same weight as the cx but vtec already wired.

I've driven some underpowered Hondas before, and I agree, the performance of the VX isn't bad at all for the amazing mileage it gets.
That's good to know the lean-burn issue is normal.

It came with blue interior. I changed it up to Integra GSR leathers front and back tho. As for mpg i can get from 45-60mpg depending on how I drive.
As for the mirrors. I like them, only thing is that it reduces how much you can see through them. You ethier love them or hate them

That does kinda suck about the mirrors. I think they're a huge improvement on the looks of the car. Sounds like some great mileage you're getting! I've heard of some white VX civics coming with black interiors, I just wasn't sure if all of them came with it or not. The oem civic seats are terribly uncomfortable, so I can see why you would swap out the seats! I switched to del sols and they have made the car SO much more comfortable to drive (and weigh half as much as the oem ones).
<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by jmaze »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">is it true the del sol seats are lower than the civic ones?</TD></TR></TABLE>
Sure is. They're at least an inch shorter, possibly more.

Exactly.
When you're giving the car basically the same amount of throttle, and it suddenly goes a little faster, that's what coming out of lean-burn is like.

Not really bogs... When you're in lean-burn, the car has less power, but when you come out of it, the car gains some power. It's hard to describe, and hard to get used to. I've had friends drive the car, and think something is wrong with it, but from driving two different VXs now, I'm confident this operation is normal.
