I was just going to get the one make by Acura.. or do you think tthat CoverCraft one is better? Suggestions? </TD></TR></TABLE>

a friend had an s2000 that had the oe car cover...when it got wet it held water in and didn't really protect it from anything but dust. a custom cover would prolly be the best route...but don't quote me on that.

i searched around for car covers:

CaliforniaCarCover: $273.98 shipped
CoverKing: $293.48
CarCovers.com: $235.00
EmpireCovers.com: $134.00
CoverCraft through carcoverworld.com: $283.00

i've heard of California Car Covers before...and i think that's the one i might go with. i'll look into it some more before i blow that much on a cover. i look at it this way: if i save money to fix the rust, i'll eventually have to fix other things like faded interior, sun-dried/cracked interior panels, and sun-damaged paint. so why not buy a car cover?

some car cover might scratch up the paint. i had one when i had my teal teg and it got all scratched up when the wind would blow the car cover off.

So I've got another problem. Before, I thought it was my coolant, but it was my fuel line. Fix the fuel line and everything was fine. Tonight, my coolant is leaking. I was a half hour away from my house and it started steaming again. Popped the hood and saw the coolant everywhere where the intake meets the throttle body. I had to get home though, so when I was driving home, when I came to a complete stop, my engine temp would go to 3/4 of the way to hot. When I was driving it would fluxuate from normal operating temp (right below half cool half hot) to 3/4 the way to hot. Anyone have any ideas?

Again, I just got home, so I haven't really had the chance to check it out yet.

sounds like a bad thermostat, but that wouldn't explain the steaming.

Right, because it is leaking coolant. Also, the thermostat didn't start like this until tonight when the steaming happened. Before this incident, the engine temp was at normal operating temperature.

right, but thermostats can fail at any time and very suddenly. There could be a small enough leak that when it starts to overheat due to the t-stat being closed (if that's teh case) it steams from that spot. I'd find exactly where the steam is coming from and check or just go ahead and replace the t-stat. If you've never done it then it's a good time to replace anyway.

I've never replaced it duing my ownership, so I guess its due lol. Do you think it is easier to have the integra running to find the leak, or to just leave it cold without running, clean everything off and start feeling around? If you know what I'm trying to ask here.

Oh, I also forgot to mention that earlier this week, the teg would idle crazy. It would go from like 3k to normal idle, and then back up. Vaccum leak?

Both. you could have it running and look for it. If it's steaming like you say then it should be fairly easy to spot. If you can't find it, I'd shut it off clean everything in the area as best you can and look for it again with it running. It's not likely to leak much while the car is off and cold.

vacuum leak very possible, but that sounds more like an issue with the IACV which should be in the back side of you intake manifold. Here is a good thread about it. Make sure you check the link in the last post also https://honda-tech.com/zero...age=2

Thanks for the IACV link. Now, I can narrow down that problem.

For the coolant leak, my friend came over (has little experience on car, mainly does Motorcycles), said that it could be numerous things and that he cannot find out what's wrong (he just did a glance look). I'm going to go check it again, I'll be back.

Oh btw, thanks Erik for all the help, I really really appreciate it a lot.

Throw a lil something something out that might help. My ride started steaming on my way home from driving down to hollywood and back. Not a big drive by any means, I do it weekly at least. It started steaming like crazy. No leaks though, it was just boiling through the cap. Popped the hood open to see my coolant bubbling through the cap like a shook up soda. So maybe you dont even have a leak, my threading on the cap was all jacked up so I just got one form a pick and pay.

Speaking of teg problems. My car went under a quarter tank today and Im back to hearing and feeling the engine jump and rev for nothing. It happens mostly when I accelerate out of a turn. The engine and needle rev but I guess the gears dont catch it seems like. After maybe 2 and a half seconds itll catch and Ill drive normal again. My manager and I replaced everything he could find wrong and my mom had us take it into Pacc who also assured us all that was left are replacing the hoses and a small leak thats no where near needing to worry about yet. So Im confused as to why my car still enjoys jumping like that.

No, I'm pretty sure its a hose.. nothing was coming from the radiator, the steam is only from from where the intake and throttle body is. I wish took some cell phone video lol.

Anyways, I just jacked her up, so I could clean the IACV, but its too hot to work with right now. I'm not sure when I'll get to work on her since I've got school and work.

most of the companies tell you to wash your car before the cover goes on...and you can buy tie-downs, cables with locks and all kinds of sh*t!

i hope i'm understanding you right... try putting some transmission fluid in (your car is an at, right?). there is a dipstick for the at trans right behind the transmission mount. you'll have to take the intake tube out to get your arm there. here is a "helper":

it may take a sec to find the dipstick too. here's what ya do: get your car up to running temperature, put it in neutral, check the stick. simple.

does your car slip on downshifts? or upshifts? my old auto trans used to slip...but i ditched it and picked up a low mileage one. before we changed trannys, we put some atf in the trans and it made it hold up til we swapped 'em.

Yeah that muff looks real nice. Not too flashy. Wondering about the sound but an OEM part should sound nice.

Yeah its an automatic. Ill give that a try before we head down to Hollywood today. Thanks!

Back when I FIRST got the car it was at 80,xxx miles. At about 90-94 the engine light came on. Back then my mom had me take the car to Pacc who I told about the reving. They said it was either the valve adi I needed or... and told me a few other things I cant remember cause this was like a year ago.I talked my mom into just letting Pacc do the timing belt cause she was scared shitless on that. I took it around to other places to get the other **** done for a lot cheaper. In that ordeal I got a tranny flush.

How often should one flush and refill the transmission fluid I guess is the real question?

I was using a cover on my car for quite a while... started using it about 3 months after I got it painted, right up until I sold her.

Unfortunately, I don't recall what brand the cover is. But, I do think I still have it in my grandfather's shed.
It fit perfectly, never scratched my car, and had a cable lock. It did sometimes let a little bit of moisture in over our humid Florida nights.
I never bothered to put it on when I thought it was gonna rain.
