I checked all fuses like 100 times sanded down all grounding points for the ecu and such I will flip the dizzy but no spark at coil it is an msd set up I noticed there is no rpms when cranking I think it is a cps issue. It has a pr4 obd0 and the battery is from my daily driver yellow top with good voltage.

Checked resistance in cps wiring and replaced just in case still nothing it weird though if i leave plug in c out of the ecu then the fuel pump will prime and check engine light goes out for a second before coming on to tell me that no sensors are getting info (cause of the plug obviously) good grounds and power everywhere. Something to do with conector c

Uh ohh... stumbled on a mint 91 crx.. 75,000 original miles.. its an auto but for the price Im not sure I can pass, not that it would stay auto, I have a whole si set-up from the last car... zero rust gets me though. someone give me a reason not to?!
Honestly have not converted an auto ever.. I have extra pedals too just in case I ditched the hydro thing, probably wont now that I have the hush bracket going in.
Even have an extra harness from NA all the way (where is that guy?!)

Worst case is to buy it and have to sell it again, not that I want to get side tracked from putting the queen together. I just want to own every crx/ef I see for sale!

Conversion is easy. Noharness neccessary. Hit me up if youneed pointers.

Did one 10 years ago while heavily intoxicated.

Worked out fine.

Dude focus on your queen. Wasnt that the reason you sold your other crx?

dang Blu (Adrian) that sucks. I know how that goes. I was out of work for nearly a year. Started a new job for 7 months, and they closed our dept and sold the book of business. Luckily I found something pretty quick because my contacts were still fresh.

Hold strong - At least your car is paid off an economical.

my field is engineering. mainly cad designing in the mechanical, electrical, piping field. i finished up my resume and going to have someone look over it before i start sending it out. they gave me 9 weeks severance so after week 4 and i still don't have a job, then i'll look outside of my field. my wife gave me some info on teaching, so that's a possibility.

At least you got severence, i didnt get that either time, lol.

My friend is a mech engineer as well and got laid off recently as well. He's still looking as well.

Well dooders - I have a problem. i just got my engine rebuilt - a trusted mechanic i've had do rebuilds before.

After 100 miles, the car is still puffing smoke here and there on take off and acceleration - white smoke. But not loosing any coolant.

He said its a bad sign - I may need to oversize pistons or swap blocks. If I do the oversize, he'll only charge the cost of the pistons and machining.

OR he has a d16Z6 block lying in the shop that he can swap in for free - thing is, is it a direct replacement? Will everything just bolt up or will modding be involved to make it work?

The car is original and Im in CA so i'd like to avoid swapping if it involves additional mods. If its direct swap, I may do it.

Anyone have a good old a6 block lying around they dont need?

I dont want to sink too much more into the can I really need - I just put in a new tranny, clutch and light flywheel, new fuel pump, filter, brakes, discs, main relay and a full rebuild including new rear main, waterpump, t belt, etc.

should i just say f it sell it and finally buy something newer?

Do you have a A6 block or b2?

Either way there is a way to swap an A6 block with a z6. Theres a thread on here detailing everything that is different between the two needing swapped and what not.

Check this: https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-crx-ef-civic-1988-1991-3/how-d16z6-block-d16a6-head-2754616/

Well at least you have some options then and something fun to keep you busy for now.

I decided to overbore and rebuild...again. Almost every mechanical part is new now so I might as well. ESP when I see what I will be paying for college for our daughter in a few more years.

Also picked up a new rear window latch, pins and seals. Sadly only one latch was left and American Honda is now NLA for that piece. Got it from a friend that works in Honda R&d.

If anyone does have a good rear window latch let me know, I'd like to replace both sides

Oh and a quick side note - I test drove a fiat abarth the other day, man those are wicked wee little beasties! It does feel every bit a small car, but man that has to be one of the best stock exhaust notes I have heard in a long time.

Only car that is fun and as fuel efficient as my civic at least. I'm getting 30 mpg now. Everything newer is getting down around 18-22. Wtf!? How did economy go down so bad when hf crxs were getting 50+ miles and were still fun to drive. Hell even my hx coupe was fun to drive with susp

Oil company's and others buy the rights to super efficient engines before they are able to hit manufacturers. Honda and Toyota are the only cars I would buy that are not diesel. Based on reliablity and efficiency. Otherwise go diesel.
