With the ZC transmissions...sometimes you will get a short final drive long shaft gear ratios or vice versa...longer final drive with short shaft gears. Its the combining of the two that makes for a super short transmission.

Some of the ZC transmissions will come with a factory 4.40 final drive. Those are golden!

I could have sworn all zc's came with shorter gears but a longer final drive (3.88) All my research has led me to that.

If you do check with Hmotorsonline, you'll have to call as the site says out of stock, but when I called last week, they did have some in.

Im pretty sure all zc trannies (88-91) have shorter gears than usdm l3's with the 3.88 fd. Never heard of a zc tranny with longer gears

i need someones expertise on wiring harnesses. i bought a used wire harness that came out of a 91 crx si. he told me it was mint and uncut. i decided to take off all the electrical tape and loom to inspect it for myself. this is my first time doing this.

upon doing this i have found some exposed silver wiring that appears to be spliced over into some other wiring in the harness. is this oem?

also, i have found a white wire and yellow wire that are not leading to anything. just 2 opened ended wires that run thru the harness. can you explain if this is normal?

i traced the route of the yellow wire and the white wire from where it starts and ends

I have a bunch of hose ends from the first order I placed.. need some 90degree ones to go in and out of the FPR. I really wanna go nuts and get those quick release leak free jiffy-tite ones.. not sure if my pockets are that deep though.

the bare wire on the dizzy plug is the shielding. it is normal.

the white, yellow wires that lead to nothing might have been the evap purge solenoid that some one previously removed???

OH and BTW if anyone has an extra one laying around I NEED A ROUND 7 PIN MPFI dizzy PLUG. please... paypal armed!

and Justin, a page back, think it get lost in the hooplah, I enquired about your fuel setup?

I'm currently working on getting rid of more wiring from my hatch. Including both fuse boxes. Oddly, I enjoy wiring messes.

I must say, and I've said it before, it's quite refreshing seeing all the help/guidance/dealing around here. EF's seem to bring people together like no other Honda's out there.

That being said, I'm starting to miss mine The "new" is starting to wear off the Tundra and I'm getting the itch to get my sedan back on the road.

not sure if i mentioned it, but I just picked up a fresh rebuilt d16a6 cable tranny from synchrotech, and a new exedy clutch.

Might pick up a lightweight flywheel too - getting a great deal on an exedy but I think its like 10.5 or 11.5, not sure if that'll be too light on the street for a daily.

I have a 7lb fidanza in the crx. Havent driven with it yet but i had an 8lb before that and it was fine for daily driving. A bit catchy with the 6-puck clutch but definitely manageable after some practice
