Im sorry but thats the most half assed thing you can ever do. quit [freak]ing around and get a skunk2 manifold and have someone tune your car or just upload a gsr basemap onto a p30 bin and turn knock off and run it in your p28.

Beat me to it. I still think just get a skunk manifold for the single fact that everything will fit that much better. I never liked an OEM gsr manifold in an EF. Too cramped and you gotta use a funky intake arm.

not buying a skunk manifold. I'm either going to buy a obdI p72 or get someone to burn the p72 map for me with knock sensor disabled. I don't want to modify this motor at all. It's completely stock and runs perfect. No oil leaks, doesnt burn or leak anything. Less than 80K on it as well. This will be my stock/daily motor until I pay off my debts and build a new motor. Does the obd1 ecu check for the knock sensor?

me either.....id just get a manifold and a nice header and have it tuned. it still wont leak oil and run good if you have a good tuner

I hate thinking bout that gsr manifold and butterflys. My motor is obd-1 and I put on the skunk2 manifold and run off of p28. Runs excellent. You are going to do it sooner or later so why wait?

For what u want, the manifold will make your install easier, thats it. You can still run it off an obd1 P72 w/ out a CEL.

Stock P30, P61 and P72 obd1 ecu's check for knock. P28 does not.

Or get a P28 modified w/ a knock sensor board like I have and put a GSR map on it. So many options to achieve the same goal...

Can someone make a chip for me? stock gsr map without knock sensor? I'll pay you for it. I'd love to just use the p28 I have and not spend another $100 on an ecu.

The knock board is a waste of time.

I don't know if any of you have ever seen the movie donnie darko, but I just remembered this scene, and shared it with my boss, and had to share it with you guys as well. There is language in it, so probably nws.
I find it funny as hell, and it really brightened my afternoon.
