Yeah, it plugged in about three inches inside. Cool, there goes a ton of clutter. Is anyone running a dry cell?

I have a "bogging" or a "hesitation" issue thats killing me..

Heres what it does
I'll be driving in 3rd at around 2500rpms and ill give it gas and it wont really do anything
kinda stutter so ill let off the gas and than press it down again and its normal? It does this in each gear between 2500-3500rpms (not so noticeable in first or second but mainly b/c I dont rev it out in the lower gears during normal driving)
If I am "hauling ***" and pulling each gear to high rpms the problem doesnt exist and the car feels and pulls fine.
I notice the problem more when Im traveling up a small incline, but if I feather the pedal it goes away...

I have triple checked the vacuum lines and they seem to be correct, the car idles normal (1000rpm), fuel filter is oem brand new.
I know there is a lot of things to just shoot out to check and replace (fuel pump, dizzy, etc..) Im more looking with someone with a similar problem as I hear about this a lot. Hope someone can offer some advice, tried being as descriptive as possible with whats going on..

I was thinking since I have everything torn apart, I might as well go ahead and replace my lower ball joints. My question is how do I get them out?

I see. I have the entire knuckle out from each side so maybe I can take them in and have them do that for me.

Hammer those ***** out, then hammer the new ones in. You need to remove the retaining circlips first(!) though. It may be beneficial to heat the part of the knuckle they are in before hammering it out. On the new ones, freeze them for an hour before tapping them into place. Make sure to clean the "mount" really well before putting the new one in. Maybe use some fine grit sandpaper to clean up the walls a bit.

I took my entire knuckles to a shop and had it done in 2seconds.. I then had them powder coated and went back to the shop and they carefully pressed them back in, no problems. I cant see any shop charging much for it, the bulk of the labor for them is taking the knuckle out. call around your area..

Or... What I did on my beater.. pulled the retaining clips, and slapped on some of those ES poly boots (I know there not anything to brag about, but it was better than the tore up old boots) I had laying around that would have gone unused. That was a quick and easy fix.

Either way you choose Matt, while the knuckle is off, definitely do something with the BJ if there looking shakey.

The reason I thought I should replace them is that I was hearing and feeling a minor pop/grind coming from the driver side suspension during low speed cornering and breaking. A lot of the stuff under there is brand new so I thought the LBJ might be the culprit.

I'm considering a "build thread" mainly because I'm deep into this thing and I'm learning so much on the fly. It's kinda crazy I've owned 13 or so Hondas, but never been this hands on. I've figured out once you get into some of these projects it's not nearly as scary as I originally thought.

He already sold it I think...

I had lower ball joints pressed out before and thruthfully, it's a PITA. They are very difficult to get on the machine at a flat angle in order to press out. A BFH would be the best option IMO.

Matt you should live closer to me I have a press to do ball joints (almost said bj's ) as well as wheel bearings and lug studs, etc. I don't recomend a hammer to get them back in though, out is fine if you are careful but they need constant even pressure to not be messed up. Should have bought my ex knuckles I had for sale awhile back, I had put new wheel bearings and lbj's on em prior to selling them.

I think the tar, sounder deadener, whatever you wanna call it that goes under the carpet, trunk, floors and all that weighs around 21lbs... IIRC.
