That's a sweet picture.

The economy is apparently just fine in OKC. It took me 20 minutes to find a parking spot at the mall on Saturday and they are throwing up new houses all around me.

I swear it's a "media recession" at this point. Maybe if they'd shut up about it people and business would start spending.

Me too. I also feel like some businesses are unjustly using the recession to "trim fat" and overwork exsisting employees. At my job our corporate has been forcing us to cut hours and shifts even though we are as busy as years past. Being a more senior employee, I have not really had any hours cut but work has become way more stressful

its ALWAYS been about the media hyping it up. 99% of the wallets would never have clamped shut if the news hadnt said it was going to be bad bad bad. they are entirely to blame.

if those who could afford it would spend modestly, and had kept doing so, the mess we're in wouldnt be nearly what it is. it would have been a downturn, but thats inevitable. it basically happens ever 6-9 years, at least a little.

my business was up 30% last year (still barely turned any profit, but up none-the-less). someday my dad and i will make money. until then, its 6 days a week, 10-12 hours/day. NICE

Aircraft sales and financings are up and repossessions are down, which means things are headed in the right direction.

I basically dismantled the whole front end of the parts car tonight. It felt good to tear into it and get some stuff pulled. I'll post some pictures later.

When I was bedding the pads I didnt notice how bad the alignment, but after cruising around a couple hours later it became apparent.

Almost made my 2hr drive back to Tampa then said **** it and called up the local alignment shop. I hate paying for alignments.

Have you tried finding a shop that'll give you a warranty? Hibdon's Tires Plus (maybe not all, but a specific location near me) will even warranty a lowered car. Regular alignment is $60 or so and you get a 6 month or 12 month, 12,000 mile warranty.

agreed

When you see three 16 year old girls giggling around a 80k SUV that they can hardly get into because its to big, let alone see over the dash. And they are so happy because one of the girls parents is buying it for her because she received good grades in school, then you know it's all hype.

the rich will always be rich. you work at landrover... you'll see that. i work for honda and people bitch about the price of oil filters. although, we get newport beach folk that come in and pay cash for whatever their 29 year old son wants. yes, 29 and his parents are buying him a car with cash!

the media may be hyping it up, but i get paid off of my sales. i know im making 1/3rd less than i was making 2 years ago. because people arent buying.

Good thing for me is that universities and hospitals will forever keep expanding and renovating in order to keep competitive…and government grants help too although last year we were on the verge of having no work and several of our firms were laying people off. But if the media would just shut up, I’m sure we would have been through this a while ago.

Just wait until the healthcare deal is set in motion.

On sort of an EF related topic... I sold my S2000 today.
