I've been pretty impressed with the kumho SPT. I don't have any experience with any of the other models.

I should have clarified that. You are definatly right. They are ok, but not great by any means. I have the 615's, the older ones. Mine only have abuot 500 miles on them, but so far they are good. I'm looking forward to autox'ing them this summer.

the old ones are the 215's, yea i road race on some 215's and they are a great budget tire but they get slimey and overheat if the track is hot...i might spring for some r-compound toyo ra-1's and pick up some garbage wheels/tires for tooling around with

i hope you werent headed uphill with that Z6.

all that mr crx guy is saying is if youre going to buy a 1200 forged wheel, at least put some TA1s on it or something.

tires are the only performance item that touches the road. dont skimp.

I didn't buy "$1200 forged wheels"

And I'm pretty sure there is more then just three brand of "performance" tires out there that work just as if not then the same as other tires

Well im going to see how the 205/50 Ziex's perform. I wanted to go with them simply b/c i think they're less beefy of a tire than other 205's out there and i dont wanna rub. We'll see!! I wanted Toyo's, but the wait would have been too long. Its all a hook up though...gotta luv whole sale prices so i cant complain either way.

the runways are nice n cheap. if you daily a car and spend money on lots of other things besides your whip, the tires serve their purpose. hold air, stick for enough fun and don't wear out too quick

if i get into racing, sure i'll step up to some nicer rubber

for now, i'll keep my multipurpose runways

BTW, this is the longest set i've owned, haha, must be calming down my driving, they were purchased hmm before last years thanksgiving

for me it was all about finally having a nice set of wheels for my car

3 piece forged 16" bigass shiny wheels
If I wanted to go fast I'd put my money in other places like under the hood. Oh wait, these were hella cheap for me, since I restored em.

I am very happy with my ecsta ASX's 205-50-15. They are a true 205mm wide and handle well wet or dry

I believe that, but you might want to read that again and make sure that was what you were trying to say.

All I'm trying to say is that most people with "real" wheels claim they bought them because they're stronger, safer, proven, worth the extra $, blah blah, and then they wrap them with crap tires.

I'm not saying people have to run R-compounds on your forged wheels. If you don't want to run sticky tires and would prefer some treadlife, that's fine. Just get something quality. Otherwise you completely contradict the typical reasons behind getting "real" wheels.

A lot of people don't realize how much of a difference a nice set of tires can make. I had crap suspension with some good tires, and it felt SO much better than my Koni/H&R setup w/ Falken Ziex.

OPPS

I meant with no problems

They have actually lasted pretty long too and don't get loud or anything when they start to wear down

watch...Runways are going to blow up, and I don't mean that in a literal term. i'm going to use them when I track my car in the summer and take hella pictures. B4 and After

I just came in on this, dont even know what got it started. Most people dont care what they look like to other people. I will buy rotas, ssr, bbs whatever i want. I like saving money. Im 36 and by the time im 50 i will retire with over 3 millinon dollars from 401k, roth/putnam ira, and stock. Its all because i didnt spend 100-300 bucks on jeans or 150+ on tennis shoes. My home will be paid off next year and i have no car pymts. I dont need to save for any rims. I like rotas style copied or not its functional, light and looks good. And i still have half my money that you spent on mugen, bbr, whatever. I can see if its all you do and you show your car. But dd I dont want to hit a pot hole with 2000 dollar rims.

My buddy toasted a kinesis rim on his beemer hitting a pot hole he could not avoid. To replace that one wheel will cost him more then a set of rotas, motegi, sportmax with tires. I know its your money buy what you like but jeez dont dog on the fakes. Some of us have the funds were just not dumb with our cash. .02

401(k)s FTW! haha. I'm 22 and I just started doing my 401(k) at work. If poor young ***** like me can do it, everyone else should too. It's best to start young anyways. My work matches dollar for dollar for the first 3% and then .50 for every dollar after that, and in 5 years, you can borrow against your 401(k) in full (loan without the bank that pays YOU back the interest!).

P.S. Random *** post that has nothing to do with EFs.
