Good: my cars finally on the road, feels ******* awesome (went from a DPFI DX to a MPFI, clutched flywheeled DOHC ZC).
Bad: codes
overheating
Why would my car be overheating? The reason I did the swap was because it was overheating. Narrowed it down to a thermostat. Change it, fine. Then the waterpump gasket fails. I give up and then swap motors. Now its got a "new" motor, fresh radiator, fresh fluid, and warm heat and the car still overheats. Any suggestions?

ive got a ys1 cable transmission with jdm SIR II gears(s80 internals with factory LSD) This transmission has zero synchro grinds and is still in my car.
i got this offer today. 4.4 FD gsr internals. he's asking 1000CAD. after that all i need is axles engine and ecu. should i take it or wait for a 4.7 FD LSD to pop up.

silly guy your car is overheating cuz your fan is not cutting on
dont worry about replacing the thermostat because it could very well be something else and thenyou'll go wasting money. Only you plan on replacing everything in regards to temp regulation then do that but if you want a quick fix to get rid of the over heating rig your can up so it stay on at all times. I had this same issue about a week ago.
Ground the fan to the chassi and wire the power to the black/yellow wire from your distributor

Both fan wires (should be blue and black if i can remember correctly) should have 12v. The fan turns on when one of those is grounded. Depending on which one you ground determines which way the fan rotates. So even if your wires are switched the fan would still operate.
First i say check the fan switch on the back of the block and make sure the 2 wires are plugged in. If they are, then go ahead and disconnect them and tie them together....the fan should turn on. If it doesnt, check the fan relay. If u dont know how to check it, find someone with a EF who has a working fan and use theirs just for testing.

Ok guys so my 88 civic dx that i recently bought the wipers wont return to the home position. As they are wiping if i stop them in the upright position this is where they stop. What is the problem? Is this a wiper motor problem?
