Yeah, I'm going to keep it on the DL until closer to completion. It's getting harder and harder to be original/innovative, and I don't want too many of my idear's stolen.
I guess I could go ahead and tell you guys the story of how I got this car. Rather interesting, if you ask me. I sold my S2000 back in November. I loved that car more than you can imagine, but I decided it was more important that my new daughter be raised at home by the wife, rather than strangers making $6.00 an hour in daycare. So I sold it to eliminate the massive car/insurance payment. I began searching for an EF, either CRX or hatch. I owned a CRX a couple years back, but it was plagued with the infamous Y-49 curse. What I really wanted was a hatch. One day I noticed this gold one parked in a lot just off the highway. I passed it a few times and noticed it hadn't moved, so I stuck a note on the windshield saying I'd like to buy it, running or not. A couple weeks went by and I finally got a call from this old lady. She said that it had fuel problems in the past but she had them fixed. It broke again and she didn't know why. She was hesitant to sell it due to gas prices, but she gave in and I gave her $500. I took delivery of the title and noticed that I just bought a super clean, one owner hatch. At that point I thought I'd check it out and see what the problem was with the car. I got in, turned the key, and it started up. I thought maybe it was a fluke, so I killed it and started it again. Needless to say I drove it home grinning from ear to ear. I got home, took some pics, and began to look over the car. After a few minutes I tried to start it again and it wouldn't turn over. My friend Justin said, "Hey take that gas cap off for a second." So I did. He shook the car with my ear by the gas filler. It sounded empty, so we added a couple gallons and, what do you know, it started again. The poor old lady RAN OUT OF GAS. The gauge still said it had half a tank. I guess the people who did the maintenance on it before had to drop the tank and something got happened with the gauge. I almost felt bad, I basically stole this car from her. Anyway, I bought it, drove strait home, and began tearing it down. The goal is to have it done by Spring.
