oh thats not a matter of opinion. the s2000 cost honda more to develop than they will ever make in s2000 sales. plain and simple. i forget the EXACT numbers so i wont pull them out of my ***. just know that development>profit margin.
from the intro of the nsx to its last year, honda broke EVEN. never a penny made since 91.

I'm not sure how accurate that statement is either. Honda pays the dealerships a bonus everytime they sell an S2000. The dealerships will often take a slight loss on a sale and make up for it by earning a bonus. I highly doubt that Honda is losing money on that car sale for sale.

It just goes to show you that Honda isnt just interested in outstanding profit margins. Maybe they just wanted to make a few really bad *** cars amongst the boring compacts and grocery getting minivans.
It seems doubtful that Honda would have misjudged the market that poorly. If so some people in the marketing dept. probably got canned!

yea....they are. honda isnt a charity automotive organization. hence accord. civic. fit.
by 2010 toyota will overtake GM as the largest automotive manufacturer in the world and they havent made a SINGLE sports oriented fast car in over a decade. theyll probably be dominating nascar by then too. scary as hell.......
what if toyota sponsored the IROC race and prepped 33 IS350s for the field to use......

heh, I still have that episide on both vhs tape and downloaded onto my computer. I'll have to watch it again real quick
funny thing is, that orange crx was my friend's old race car (same guy who greg ran in the street racer show) and before it had a fully built jg motor and was running low 12s all motor at palmdale before it blew up. this was back in 2000-2001. used to have 16" mr5's on it back then but those went back onto the da teg with the stock b16 after he sold the car to greg. I was at his house when he did the orange paint job in his garage. car came out lookin clean after the color-sanding and buffing and when he put the mr5's onto it. his house in a nice neighborhood looked like it had a bio-dome tent coming out of his garage with all of the clear painters plastic that day
