How hard was the hub swap? Any links to articles on it?

Simple press-in deal or did you have to modify some stuff?

BTW Yeah, I agree with you two ^ That rex has been my favorite since I first saw it. And every picture I see impresses me more!

woot! thanx guys!

so yah, i'm just using DA front knuckles and bearings with machined ITR hubs. i have brand new usdm upper and lower control arms in the front as well (upper was the same as my jdm but the lower was a bit different) so u guys don't have to worry, the camber and geometry should be pretty much the same as urs.

in the rear, i have 98 spec ITR trailing arms with ITR bearings and hubs. i'm using my stock compensator arms but have EG lca's and a Skunk2 camber kit.

The SIRS have shorter inner tie rods to compensate for the different spot of sir knuckles, how did you over come this problem? Did you swap to usdm inner ties?

Would any of you guys trade a Civic or CRX for a clean 92 GTi?

My friend has been made this offer on his Civic. He has a B16 and the car is pretty clean overall. The GTi is all stock, clean and has had most every major component gone over or replaced. It even has the stock 16V BBS wheels.

He's tempted because it's not a high theft ride like his civic. All I know, is that it can be a pain to work on.

The same friend made me the same offer for my CRX and I can say I was tempted as well, something I can daily easily and still have my civic to work on, but I have 2, he just has the one car for trade. So if he does it, that's it, no more EF's.

i don't think that would pose much of a problem since tie rods can be adjusted depending on the knuckle u use. (to a certain degree of course)

on my car tho, all my steering and suspension is new and pretty much close to all usdm spec. i actually converted to a manual rack i picked up from Honda Primo while a friend was stationed in Japan. all brand new tie rods, boots, and steering rack, etc...

coincidentally, all the part numbers match its usdm counterpart except for the actual rack itself, which is a backwards version of a usdm manual rack.

I think thats why chemist... The manual rack to the best of my knowledge is all from the non ef8, which has the same geometry as usdm cars... right?

i see where ur coming from. but, i still don't see why there would be much of a difference since tie rods are adjustable in length. my DA knuckle wasn't much different from my SiR knuckle in terms of shape and design either.

Its something about the mounting position of the tierod on the sir knuckle... When the usdm rack is used and jdm ef8 knuckles you have to trim the threaded ends down to fit. Either way, it works and works well the way you did it

THe sir knuckle mounts in farther for the tie rod, so using usdm crap, tie rods screwed all the way in, you still have your car severely toed out. You have to cut and 1" off each tie rod and then it works fine.

Different cars dood. I have two crxes too keep up with my needs. My DD has all the AV **** in it. The KRX is stripped, just a shell, and a motor. One for speed and one for comfort. Kinda like having a wife that takes care of the kids, does dishes, laundry ect. Then the KRX is the slutty mistress, you slamfuck on the weekends. Thats the best way I can describe it.

Edit:

Rey your car is gorgeous. I love it.

It had GINORMOUS lips. Like 1 1/2 inch lip in the front and a 3-4 inch lip in the back.. Lug pattern is 4x114 but should be a easy sale to the V-Dub guys.
No Centercaps though, i took them. </TD></TR></TABLE>

Yeah, typically I can tell just by looking at them but I've been shopping around for just the knuckles alone (a lot cheaper) as I only need them to press in some 5 lug hubs...

DA front knuckles will give slight positive camber which is great for a lowered car. For a car sitting at stock height, just stick with EX or Si knuckles

Anybody else care to chime in? I'm pretty sure they have a stamp on them like LH... and RH... for left and right sides then a number

</TD></TR></TABLE>

i'll check out this weekend if they have any markings on them. i think i might just swap out my STD knuckles for the integra ones cause i'll be getting rid of the crx anyways and i'll be needing new hubs when i do my swap cause of the axle.

I believe he was right with 4x114, like older 4 lug toyotas, they have a common bolt pattern. 2 friends currently working on 1st gens, have confirmed this and my exp back in the day.

and you guys didnt snap any pics?

Reminds me of a time (before cell phone camera's or cells were even common) - I went to a pick a part out in Pomona I think, there was a 1972 Datsun 510 complete and intact sitting in the yard. NO real visible damage other than some dents, but the plates had orig blue CA plates and had stickers from like 79 on them.

Didnt have cash to pick it up but I figured it was either found in a garage by family after someone died and they just had it hauled off, or the orig owner had it so long unregistered, they didnt want to deal with back fees and had it towed.

B E A utiful car.

There was a set of those gold old school BBS rims on a old BMW. the 4x100 ones.
I didn't have money all i could afford were the centercaps off the Enkei, and a throttle cable for my hatch. Hehe
