Already talked about that. BAR Certs are on hold, not removed. Since DMV is aware, you just request a temp op cert and indicate you are waiting for certification. They'll keep giving you one until this mess is straightened out.

CBE, let me see what I can do, lol.

luckily there has already been citations given out to people with swaps to go to the ref.

ending result
judge dismissed the case because of no ref

$10 won't hurt my pocket...that won't even give me half a tank of gas

I'm going to do everything the right way though as far as emissions.
I just need to do a lil more research on the supercharger end.
That part of the build is still up in the air since I don't know exactly what I'm doing and how to install it.

I stand corrected!

Still, b18c5 supercharged seems like a waste of money

Yeah, maybe if you bought everything new, but knowing James he probably got the motor and supercharger for 10 BK stackers on the value menu .

Im from NY and im planning to move to southern california in a month or two.. do you think it would be easier to just keep my car registered in NY? I dont know anything about getting BAr'd, or ref's... and really dont want my car getting impounded or anything. I know its not going to pass emissions, barely will here. Any advice or links to where i can find information on this is very helpful.

What is your motor setup?

If you have a K-series or H2b (or some other ridiculous motor setup that would never pass visual or smog) then I'd say keep it registered in NY. If you just have a busted old stock B-series I'd say just pick up another one for cheap out here in Cali and BAR it.

Here's a good site to get you started: http://www.bar.ca.gov/

i wouldnt say its a busted old B series... its a JDM GSR w/ bolt ons. I/H/E/manifold/TB/ nothing is stock except the block. i gotta read up on the rules first. Anything about modified suspension in getting a car BAR'd?

thanks for the link!

A little info to get u started: To do it "right", you will have to go obd2 and install the underdash scan tool hook up port (DLC). You'll also need the purge valve for that motor as well..which is a 100$ part by itself (no one seems to have a used 97 one). 97 spec is the way you'll want to go unless you want to install the gas tank pressure sensor and purge vent valve. Good luck finding a 97 usdm ecu too, **** took me forever!

I thought u said the c5 was blown? Not as in supercharged, but internally f'd.

Actually there is, if you're too low they wont put the car on the rollers, lol. Raise the car up just to be safe for the test.

NP, and your GSR should pass BAR so long as you have the correct ECU, no cels, all emissions equipment hooked up, and all of your bolt-on's must be CARB approved (i.e. DC or Greddy header, AEM or Injen Intake, Skunk2 manifold, etc.). Also depending on the ref station, you may need a datalink connector plug. As for the suspension, last time I BAR'd my car (SOHC ZC...lol don't ask), they didn't say anything about me being lowered, but I can see some issues with being ridiculously slammed and not able to get up on the dyno, lol.

Dang, I totally forgot that the B18c5 was OBD2 . Seems like a bit of a headache.

I dont think its even worth the attempt to get it bar'd... header wont pass, intake wont pass... i dont know if moroso oil pans fit in, or aftermartket fuel rails, my whole suspension is bearings(well everywhere possible) its not really a street car to begin with, but im sure im gonna want to drive that cali coast.... F'it.... if you see a NY CRX in CALI youll most likely know its me!! thanks for the help guys.
