well i test drove a 2006 mitsubishi lancer evolution IX MR today. it had a little more body roll then i expected (for being a supercar beater). gas mileage is a concern, but i have read reports (car and driver being one) of 30 mpg with a vishnu tune. notchy shifter at times but could have just needed tranny fluids changed (29K miles). i have also read some people getting 25-30 mpg on evolution forums. over all, i was pretty impressed. smooth, responsive. nice head room, comfortable recaro seats, leather/ suede mix. very good cabin visibility (no awkward blind spots). good driver positioning. clutch release was higher then i expected (dont know if worn clutch or just how car is set). GF said it was a little bumpy. large trunk. i didnt like the shiny shift **** and ebrake handle (looked kinda ricey).
next test drive is a sti, i found an 2006 sti locally at a dealer to test drive.

i saw the o6 lancer in person. wasn't that bad looking. how much does it cost? 25g+? anyway, you spend that much just to get 25-30 mpgs? lol @ baller. i would just get a civic and call it a day.
not trading yet. test driving to get a realistic idea of cars i have been interested in. i already test drove a s2000, a car i thought i would love, but hated it. always liked EVOs since grand turismo, certain movies and race history. STI is EVOs competative brother so it gets a test drive too. although, the CRX can still win (downfall being FWD honda theft, jdm fee, and availability of parts). i want to have a good idea of things so i dont waste money now or have my eyes on a car i do not want to have.

this one was quoted at 29K. a little high. AWD and getting that MPG is good actually. the new civics are bland, ugly and boring (other then the k20 though). i do prefer to stick with cars that actually get good gas mileage.

my buddy has a legacy gt. i would have that over a evo or sti any day. same performance, better interior, less flashy, so on and so forth. harder to find, but well worth it. so much better in so many ways.
