guys, check out this FS thread, looks like the j's replica lip on a usdm front, can anyone confirm?
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=2127507

Sidenote: the EF is finally roadworthy, however a little too late for the maple grove show yesterday

I bumped his thread and sent him a PM asking about the lip. It does look like a modified j's. His car looks nice but his sidemarkers are way too high up.

As for the lip on the aforementioned EF: dubbedtodeath (5:27 PM 10/22/2007): i have no idea to be honest with you... it came on the car, and no its staying on

Next impulse buy of mine might be a j's rep. lip

I don't know man
There is no better platform then one you alredy have.
You pretty much already know the ends and out of your car because you have owned it for long and when trying to trade for another one you may end up with more work/headache then you have with your own car.
As long as it doesn't have any rust anywhere I would keep the car and start from there

Is your ef your daily driver? It would be pretty simple to have it re-welded to be the correct length.

its not daily driven. I don't think its the length of the linkage that is causing the play.
I just need to get it looked to find out for sure.

The only play can be in the rubber bushings. Replace those with the poly ones and it will be more solid. Eveything else is mounted solid.

It could be in the linkage its self (that little bronze piece that attaches to the gear selector) the roll pin wears down over years.

you know which play I'm talking about right??

when you have it in gear and you wiggle the shifter it feels like its in Neutral

I can find the gears perfect ad they stay in. I have never tried to pull them out but it just hasa lot of room from left to right

Yeah, my new hatch has that, nothing you can do but replace the gear selector. I was under the car this weekend and visually saw that it was the only loose part. Get under your car and have a friend shake the shifter and you will see.
