break in eh? what do you suggest for an sohc lookin to run 15psi with new picstons,rings,and rods on the bottem. how long should i drive it before i go to tune it?

 

Man there are a ton of different opinions on this subject. My personal opinion that I have been using for a very long time is that bearings and seals/gaskets need no break in. The only thing you need to worry about are idle time (15-20 minutes or so) for the cams to break in and check for leaks/set the timing. Then I take it out and do a handful of mid throttle pulls to about 4k-4500 and let it engine brake back down to idle. If the rings aren't seated by then, they aren't going to.

After I do that, I consider them done and start tuning. I have never had problems with uneven compression or anything like that and they have all had plenty of life in them.


You will get plenty of different opinions on the subject but that's what I have always done and never had an issue with it on either all motor, nitrous, or turbo motors.

Not to bad man, I used to have that cluster in my CX and for a second I forgot it was kph, I was like DAMN his **** is moving out.

I was i had the jdm knowledge to convert kilometers to mph rather than look at a chart haha.

 

lets just say anything over 120 is way to fast. i was doing like a buck 10 a buck 15.

 

Easiest way to do the fast conversion in your head for normal driving is drop the 0 and multiply by 6, ex 100, 10x6=60. 60, 6x6=36. It's not dead on but I never got a ticket when I had mine.

 

Well just finished my front end today, just need to spray it tomorrow morning, still a lot of things I need to do and people I need to see before Eibach.
