Nice ride Jay Sensing, up for the squad, I've been incognegro

 

I will be tuning hopefully Friday morning, if not, it will be early next week. I have to work until 8am tomorrow but I get Wednesday off so I will be heading home and pulling the head off one more time. I will throw in a new plug with a higher expansion rate to match the aluminum and see if it seals. Then I will start the street tune tomorrow.


Hopefully have some track passes this weekend at either Coastal Plains or Kinston dragstrip.

So, I am still curious how to get a squad sticker. Anyone care to share the love and let me know? Car will be making a track appearance either this weekend or next and I would like to have it on by then


Sucks about your headgasket, any idea what happened?

 

Not a clue,just leaking crazy amounts of oil. And the guy who was shipping me my b16 head bitched out so i dont know what im going to do. What a week..already

umm last i heard. charlie (nautical_star) only had a couple of black ones left. but im not sure if he still has any. pm him.

about ******* times your jerk......i've been waiting for like 6 months to see those damn things.

 

Well I just took my maiden 4 mile voyage to seat the rings. Car runs nice and idles well. No smoke, no more oil leak. I have a tiny water leak that I think is coming from the water neck in the head and a o2 sensor code. I think the o2 code is due to the open header though

Either way, as soon as my buddy gets off work and makes his way over here with the welder, I will get the exhaust on and then my tuner is rolling by with a house call for a street tune. Not too bad I guess. Took me two weeks longer than I wanted but she is running and it seems there are only minor bugs to work out now.


And Charlie, I am in the squad now as far as I know since my name was added to the list so sell me a sticker man

 

good news man! if i get some new axles for mine, i will roll out to the track if you go to kinston. lmk.

 

Well man, I will most likely try to make it out there Sunday but no running for me for a couple of reasons. Things happen. Another week or so and she will be ready to be turned hard.

 

i kinda figured it wouldnt be this week. i know i wouldnt go to the track just a few days of getting i on the road. i would want a couple of street tune sessions at least. break it in, not break it period

Break in is really nothing more than ring seating man, bearing and seals don't need a break in and a few pulls to 4k with engine breaking back to idle will seat the rings on a well built motor. She's already broken in, just had a minor setback with the oil pan gasket last night and my tuner is leaving for vegas tonight on vacation so I won't get a good tune on the car until Tuesday now. We just base mapped it so I can drive it around without flogging it and be ok because I do want to drive it this weekend whether I can race or not.
