Do it up! Some crazy weather coming up. 97* tomorrow
Spent some time yesterday washing, compounding and waxing my sister's car. It was hard to see how it turned out bc it got dark but looked pretty good from what I could see.
Her clutch is shot lol. It slips by just giving gas, just barely drivable. I'ma have to end up changing it for her, any of you guys done a clutch b4? I think its doable but just figured I'd ask. I've got a nice instruction manual scan here for it. I should be good.

Sry if i missed something, ppl are walking by and im burning up my Alt+Tab button.
Ya its pretty simple. Get the car on jack stands, remove the salve cylinder and unplug sensors that are attached to the transmission. Place the jack under the engine and support it while you take the bolts out of the transmission and the bracket on the back of the block. While you are back there loosen up the header fron the rest of the exhaust. Then loosen up the drivers side mount (Chassis side) and check to make sure nothing will be in the way when you lower the transmission side of the engine. Remove the bell housing bolts, seperate transmission from then engine, and then procede to remove the pressure plate from the flywheel. If necessary, resurface the flywheel while you are in there. Replace the throwout bearing and be sure to apply a slight ammount of grease to the input shaft when doing so. Hold the clutch disc in place with the alignment tool and then install the pressure plate. Then all you will have to do is bolt the transmission back up and reconnect everything that you removed.

hahaha nah thats pretty good info man def filled in some questions I had. Not sure if i will have to remove the header, this is for a Volkswagen beetle btw. Great info thanks man.
What about the axles, how hard are those to take out and put back in?

also watch out with anti sieze, it acts as a lubricant. if the bolt has a torque spec dont use it per honda.
I was talkin about using antisieze as a lubricant for the splines on the input shaft. lol
true story. i broke a halfshaft at an autox in the sedan. this might have been the first time that axle nut had been broke loose/off. it broke a craftsman breaker bar so we went to autozone and got a cheap breaker bar also a torch. i heated and heated and sprayed pb blaster for what seemed like forever. one of us had to hold the brakes while the other one jumped on the breaker bar. that is how bad it was. so it got to the point where i had the flame on there for close to a hour while he went and checked out this new school. he comes back with a 8ft long with a probably 4in od pipe. the sucker was so heavy one of us had to get the socket on the nut then the other would get the leverage on the pipe. then the other one would run around and get on the brakes. after a few tries it finally broke loose and that was probably the loudest pop i had ever heard in my life. lol. that sucked for sure.

nothing happens easily it seems most of the times. the only thing i can say that went in almost seamlessly was my rollbar. no joke it took 30 minutes at most to install it from pushing the car out of the garage to completion. only had to redrill one hole and that was it, autopower is the way to go.
THEN...not to mention that axle was crap and fell out of the trans 3 times the next 3 days. so then i got a napa halfshaft and had to change it in that church parking lot on an august day while on blacktop. good thing i had done it so much in the previous days it only took like 25 minutes to get the napa one in and rolling again.
Good sh*t Dave!

sup squad!
I finally stop being lazy & checked out how bad the condition of my block was and finally put it on an engine stand. 3 years ago this was still a perfectly good and running block but now it has rusted up cylinder walls since i had to move home and my pops wouldnt allow me to keep it in the garage or shed. I bought the engine stand 3 years ago too but never got around to mounting the motor on it. haha lazyness at my finest. Hatch could've been up and running by now
oh well, Time for a bore and hone and rebuild. or should I just sell?
cleaned it up a bit
