im redoing some wiring once it gets warm out as in above 50. i just went out in the garage and messed around. i put in my helmet hanger on the roll bar and well it is ehhh not really what i wanted but i guess i have it for when i get a full cage then i can put it on the forward most bar of the main hoop.
47 degrees here. I haven't been outside since this morning though...so I'm just going by what the local news website says. Maybe I'll roll with my windows down on the way home. Haha

1. This is my daily driver so I have to hassle my parents to let me borrow their spare car for a few weeks.
2. I'm borrowing a local SCCA member's home shop with a lift to remove the engine from my car but he lives 30 miles outside of town but well worth the lift.
3. He's also trailering my car back into town to drop off at the paint shop when time is due.
4. The paint shop is doing this for free so I'm trying not to press any buttons or step on any toes but my DMVR SCCA club wants to display my car in the World of Wheels car show on March 10th, 11th & 12th and the fella who owns the shop says they're pretty backed up right now so it might not happen to early March.
5. Our first solo event is March 20th and he said he could have it painted by then no-problem.
6. Scheduling all this around family/work time is a pain in the neck is all.
However...this is a really good pain in the neck...being it's all free and I have so many local people willing to lend me a hand. I just want to get this all done so I can DRIVE the car at solo events. I missed too many last year.

truck = a professional detail.. the water spots on it are FAR above my car care level.
bike = tires, helmet, couple small things.
obviously, the subaru needs the most money, but I also drive it the most.

and that is wild that you guys got a spot in your world of wheels. ours is basically for "domestic" stuff only. i know of a shop that wanted to take a couple lambos and loti(lotusesesessses) up there but got the axe.
yeah i understand that. im frickin dying for some seat time right now.

My hatch and my buddy's EVO X will be the two imports. The other display cars will be real race cars.
I believe a yearly membership is $80 and for our events it's $20 per event register for members and $30 for non-members.
Ah okay. The membership price listed on their website is $90. So its that plus $15-25 per event? Okay that makes sense. I thought the membership covered all the races and I thought it was too cheap, it didn't seem real lol. That is not bad either way though.
Do they usually have helmets that can be lent? Other than the associated costs of transportation/food/car/etc I think its a really good way to get started in racing. I think you learn important skills that help you become a better/safer driver. Going to the track is pretty involved whereas auto-x can be easier to dive into since you can simply make sure your car is good running condition and you don't need a kickass car to start with.
I'm not looking to be competitive at first, I just want to try it out. How competitive are you guys in your classes?

you will be in st which is a competitive class in most regions but most of the cars are slow so the driver shows. my first autox was in the sedan and after run 2 i was second in class out of like 12-15 cars if i remember right. third run i come out of the box and snap a half shaft so i end up getting fourth. now i am in the hatch which i run sms because it is where i consider the big dogs are. i could have won every event this year in smf even on street tires but sms i am a huge underdog. basically if you have a swapped honda you are in street mod and in my region there are only 3 fwd cars that run sms. me..kevin miller in his itr he has had/autoxed since 00 is always 1 or 2..my buddy kyle has autox now for like 4 years and he is now in a k20(240ish whp) integra. i dont really pay attention to the sti/evo/etc guys i just try to keep up with those 2. i got kyle in his tuned gsr the first event but him and kevin got me in the 2 others. im normally in the top half of the class and am going to try to go home with a few trophies this year..if they let me run. lol.
im pretty sure gabe is always in the trophies in his region. i dont really know what his class is like but i know last year they didnt/couldnt field a sms class. he would be better to fill you in on that.
really no other costs for the day besides filling up with gas. also take a cooler with food/drinks and then if you and your buddies eat afterwards.

I run SM, (Street Modified) because like what Brad said, motor swap puts me in that class. We don't have a large enough group to do SMF but if I do nationals this year, (which is in the plan) I will run SMF. I'm generally 1st or 2nd in my class at a regional event. I've never done any divisional or national level events so I'm sure the better/more competition would push me down a bit...but you never know. This will be my 6th season so in my club I'm no longer a novice.
