hell yeah!
hell yeah!
So I have a strange question for the hardcore Mugen enthusiasts...
Did Mugen actually create and sell CR-X Pro's? Like is there a difference between buying a complete Pro car, and parting the car together with authentic Mugen parts to make it a Pro?
I think about how muscle cars work... Like the difference between having a numbers matching authentic Corvette, and having a restored one...
Of course, I'm asking this question selfishly for myself. My car could never be a real CR-X Pro.3, but I have everything that would make it one... So in that regard, based on the Muscle car ruling, my car is a Pro.3 replica?

I've never heard of that and I highly doubt it, but I will ask a friend.

From what crxforum told me. Mugen never sold any cars. After you bought the car you would either buy the parts and put them on, or take it to them, and have them do it. So I would have to say that if you even bought the parts, and put them on it would just be a Del Sol with Mugen parts, if it was a replica, then the parts would be fakes. So it is like if you bought a Evo and had Buschurr Racing do a package on your Evo, you would have a Buschurr Evo. Now if you just bought the parts and put them on you would have a Evo with Buschurr parts. What you are talking about is more like a Rousch or Saleen Muustang. They actually buy the cars, convert them and resale them, same way as like the Yenkos, and Copos. This information could be wrong, but that is the way crxforum explained it to me.

Well... No, the parts are real, but since Mugen never made USDM Pro cars, even with authentic Mugen parts, even if I had King Motorsports bolt everything on (after I already did myself mind you
) my car is still a mirror image of the real thing, hence authentic parts but replica of what Mugen would sell or assemble themselves.

Is there some kind of official paperwork from Mugen Japan that says "this car was assembled by Doctor Mugen-guy?" And does it come with a bag of Mugen pubice? VERY NIICE! :D

I am in no way the authority of all things Mugen, but King is not Mugen. I would say if you bought your car in a time when Mugen still made the parts you now own, shipped your car on a boat to Mugen's place, and had them install everything, or pay them to fly here with the parts, and install, then you would have a real Mugen LHD USDM car, not to mention a more empty wallet then you have now. The other option is import a Mugen car. Any other way it is a car with Mugen parts on it.
I call mine a pro.2 but it isn't, I say that because I have a pro.2 kit. Honestly when done it will devour anything Mugen made, NSX excluded. That being said. I feel it is better to do it this way if you plan to mod the car. I would never modify a real Pro.2, I would leave it as Mugen intended, and wipe it with a diaper. What I have done to mine would kill the Mugeness.

According to crxforum, yes. His car had documentation with it, it was stolen during transit, as well as a few other items. I don't think it came with Mugen pubes, but I believe Mugen did a special thing for race teams for good luck they could order a bag of Scott Tenerman's pubes for like 20000000yen! LOL!

There is a car here in OKC that facinates me. It's a red (pink) first gen LHD CRX with the Mugen decals on the side. I only saw it for a split second, but I know for sure it had 13"-14" CF-48s and Mugen parts. A really old asian guy was driving it. One person I talked to said the guy used to live in Japan (it was a long time ago and I don't really trust the source). I'd REALLY like to run into him some time and get all the details, or atleast some pics. It appears as if it was assembled a very long time ago, the stickers are worn, the wheels beat, and overall looks aged. I carry my camera in the car so I can snap pics of it if/when I see it again. A good friend of mine saw it in the Wal-Mart parking lot a few weeks back, but couldn't really get a good look. He was just passing by and his *****-of-a-g/f wouldn't let him stop and look.
I'd heard about it for the longest time, but never believed it existed. I'll definitely post pics and a story if I get more info.

That could be the case here. Regardless, it's rare and I can't wait till I see it again. I've also heard that he knows what it is, and has been offered a lot of money for it, but he won't sell. Hopefully I can get a strait story soon. I'll follow him to his house if I have to, lol.
