Hey....even Ferrari has to sell out by selling cars to fund racing and R&D endeavors.

MTec selling non-performance items helps the bottom line which keeps them in existence. Even if their reason for existence has ultimately changed (more for show & go parts vs. race parts), it's a part of business evolution. It's not like Sochiro Honda had wishes to build the ultimate commuter family sedan for 80% of the American population (think: Accord)

Correct me if I'm wrong, they built F1 engines in the past for race teams they were contracted with, but I don't think they are in the F1 realm anymore (in fact, if I'm correct, it's been quite a number of years that have passed since they last have built anything for any F1 teams).

To the best of my knowledge "mugen" dropped from F1 in 99 or 00 but I believe M-tec still competes in F1 under the name "Honda racing F1" but it's still mugen. I'm not 100% on that but I'm pretty sure that's how it is going down. Regardless of F1 they do compete in other series including JGTC and I belive now LeMans and they do have race fans that can enjoy a product that has nothing to do with tuning a car
