I'm going to pick up a B16 trans this afternoon. Anyone know if there is a good way to check it out and make sure it doesn't have problems? I know those transmissions are notorious for bad synchros. It's a long time friend of mine, so I can open up the case if need be.

 

When I bought my si tranny for my z6 I had the guy pop open the case and there is some sort of magnet inside to check for metal shavings and what not. At least on s20s... Lol

They used water then pressed on aluminum foil...then sticky notes everywhere for the letters..i laughed my *** off when my friend pulled it up
