((((((((----EG Hatch Thread----PT 2 )))))))))
i got my winters on now (turned the gunmetal ITR wheels into winter wheels with brand new Blizzak LM25's), 1-piece JDM spoiler is my winter spoiler, and soon i'll probably take out my Recaro's as well. debating taking off the Spoon calipers again this year or not...depends how hard it's going to snow i suppose

ITR winters, nice! You're taking out the recaros too? Maybe I should take out my bucket and throw in the oem si seat. I would take out the Spoons if I were you. They are really exposed to the snow so it wouldn't be a bad idea. You would just have to bleed the brakes really, its not that bad.
buddy, you have a sick car AND an AP2! me is jealousy

damn it...no winter modes = no rust too....must be nice

I just read a few pages back. Man I miss this thread and being on h-t in general. Glad to see a lot of committed members progress with their builds.
My 1st Winter mods for me were steelies + General Altimax Arctic (cheap and good reviews). Some black tar spray for the rear inner fenders to protect from salt & rust and we'll see what happens!! Not sure if there's a point in getting the recaro's out other than snow getting them wet... just gonna have to be careful getting in!
1st time for a FL car. 1st winter for a FL driver...
Can't wait to drive in the snow though!!
the bad thing is i cant think of any place where the weather is good all year around and theift isnt a big deal, i think i would rather have the winter in illinois and not have to worry if my car is going to be outside
I got my car running again with the stock motor. The plugs looked like crap, so cleaned those up and re-installed them and here's the kicker- Apparently my timing belt had come loose so bad that it skipped a tooth and was flopping around against the timing cover and also making the tensioner pulley make crazy noises. Reset the belt position on the cam gear, re-tensioned the belt according to the Haynes manual and it's not making any noise and running just fine. I'm hoping in the next couple months I can change out the valve seals and it will be running like a champ. SOHC 4 LIFE
^ YEAH!
My current d15b7 blows though.. no power at all. I feel like I'd be content with a d16z6, as it has vtec and it's probably a little faster (enough for me, at least).
And plus, my motor right now leaks like crazy. I'm not sure if I should try and replace the gaskets that are leaking and save it for a little longer, or just pickup a z6/d15b and swap that in

My car is just quick enough to not be completely boring, but not quick enough to get me in trouble. It corners well, brakes well and is fun to drive and look at sitting in the garage, so that's fine with me for now.
Heck yeah man, I love that d15 in your car, shows that you don't need a B or K to be one of the best. Glad you got it running again, such a good feeling I bet.

Sometimes power does compensate for skill. Personally, I'd rather have skill than power. I can buy power.
