as you get older and wiser, you start realizing that rolling a clean car > rolling a "quick" FF car that requires maintenance up the ******* ***.
my next "project" will have a SOHC, be dumped, and clean as ****.
oh and FF-Greg, I agree, start another build ASAP

True, but that's just as retarded as having a turbo FF that can't go fast any other way but straight, and isn't fit or to be a daily driver (chattering clutch, no power before boost, fear of downpipe damage, etc.).
My whole deal is to have a clean looking, daily-drivable DA that has some pep, and is modified in the way that it could be comfortable (enough) on the street and can be taken to a REAL race track with turns.
All the while getting almost 30 MPG

so turn the boost down, to 8 psi, and wax NA cars on any track.
i used to be hardcore NA too... then i drove a boosted EG with 500+ whp... that **** changed my mind instantly... easy to drive, handled like it was on rails... the owner drove that car to the strip, ran 10.5's and drove it home. why cant i do that with a DA?

you can...it'll just be loud as **** and running 13's on the street, and will require higher maintenance than your lightly modded N/A motor

because you'd have to stop and get gas because you ran out after doing 30 burnouts. Turbo cars are nice. Don't get me wrong. I want to s/c my gsr, but 650hp on a DA has already been done and isnt worth the money put into it.
The creator of this thread has one of the baddest DA's ever. H2b with OEM internals, N/A that runs 10s. Try that as a challenge.

A wise investment would be some better cam gears , i wouldnt want to hold my breath with those 3 bolt ones.

NA > Turbo imo.
I love turbos too, but nothing beats a greatly built NA with full interior.
In my opinion great cars are driven to the track, own at the track, and then driven home. No trailer queens for me.
DD track cars FTW

stop being a buch of pussies. i guarantee, the bergenholtz's would do it all over again! no questions asked! so grow some *****, and admit none of you have what it takes to mod a DA! or from the sound of it, any car at all... especially those of you that say NA>boost.... *****

Believe me i've driven plenty of insanely fast turbo cars.. i just wouldn't have it in my honda.. ever... all motor and the ability to handle turns is what floats my boat.. seems more reasonable then having something you have to put race gas in.. which at a time like this is a little costly.. certain cars were made to be a certain way.
Plus.. not everyone is worried about "waxing" people.. i like my car and i couldn't care less if its faster then a geo tracker.. its a good feeling.

No, im reffering to the person who is "TuB0Zz TiLl I dIe MaN! WHOOSH WHOOSH"
No one here was knocking on the boost notion, but some people PREFER different things. Trying to explain a method of tuning to people shouldn't involve "NA is for pussies, stop being *****."
No one is the same, and tuning philosophies will always be based on preference.
In a fantasy land, far far away...I wanted to boost my Integra. I had over half of the parts I needed and came to the very surreal realization that I drive my car almost 100 miles a day. Thats between college, work, girlfriend, friends..etc..etc..
The question that you have to ask yourself is this : "Can I afford downtime?"
Unless you have a big baller budget, and can afford to fix something everytime is breaks, the answer is going to be NO.
I sold my incomplete turbo kit to a braver person, that has another car to get around with. Now, Im going to be saving it towards a mildly tuned N/A setup. Probably a SiR2 b16 longblock with cams and valvetrain...and eventually, Ill swap the 1.6l block for a 1.8 with a tad higher compression, to get the most potential out of my cams. It should be as reliable as my dad's TL, decently quick, and get great MPG.
But do I tell boosted guys that they are fucktards for using their tuning philosophy? Not if I want to get hit in the dome-piece.
I have a friend that is building a SFWD car, its going to be a badass turbo monster. Hell...it has a damn parachute FFS.
Will I think its badass? Pssh....hell yeah. But would I want to subject myself to the lack of comfort and daily driveability? Nope.
Whatever happened to doing what you want to do? It seems like everybody is worried if their Honda can walk off on a stock v6 Accord now-a-days. Most likely...no. lol. But is that why we love our cars? I know I love my car becuase its fun to drive, looks great, and gets me from point A to B without hassle, and sometimes, it might put a smile on my face depending on how I drive it.
