Pulled the old b16 block last week sunday. Stupid spun bearing but looks like my rings where doing some magical things. Doing a hard break in this week then I'm off to gingerman again. Car needs to be tuned this base map isn't cutting it.

Magnetic plugs can't catch brass -_-

Got a oil pressure gauge and arp pressure plate bolts. Looks like my pressure plate what holding on to 6 bolts instead of 9.

 

Lots of work on these DA's. I've been avoiding this thread like the plague cause it gives me the itch...to get this completed. But, bought a BRZ and been short on money and time to work on the DA

Hopefully I can start piecing some stuff together this summer and get it rolling again! Repainted the bay right before winter

Pulled a lot of stuff off the car yesterday. Need to just pull the IM and the head and pop the new head gasket on.

closest forum i could find to da integra discussion. Im looking at buying a 1990 integra. Its an RS. This is what baffles me, it has power windows and a sunroof. Was that optional back when it was new. Like you could order it from honda that way.......The title says rs, i will be checking vins lol

 

I believe so, I've also seen some after purchase, dealer installed options as well.

 

if somebody installed a sunroof aftermarket im going to be a little cautious lol. Thanks though. Im thinking maybe they ordered the rs from the factory with a sunroof but wanted manual windows (some peps are that way) and throughout the 24 year course of its life someone swapped power windows...muhbey

 

Could be that way, sorry I looked over the sunroof part LOL.
Could have been ordered that way, things back then were a bit easier to order options without having to have stupid "packages" and such as they do now.

 

Yeah the RS stand for Regular Series and LS for Luxury series but most of the da ive seen all had sunroof, its rare to see one without it.

 

The RS does not come with a sunroof or power windows or power anything. They must have added that stuff them selfs or switched the vins or something.

 

Finally drove the car up from florida. went to the junk yard and raped a DA in there. Got the black interior and the carpet. Took it to the car wash and gave the carpet a good wash.

 

Or the original owner had it added as an option back in 1990 from the dealer? not that it makes much sense when he could have just bought an LS. What i think he did, was order it in 1990 with a sunroof, but wanted manual windows (some people just hate power windows). So he went the RS route and added the sunroof. Then later on from modifications some punk kid added power windows from an ls in the junk yard. That is a very feasible scenario.

 

It's very easy to get doors from a junkyard with power windows and wire them up in a rs. Happens a lot

I myself have made more trips to local upull more than I would have liked the past month trying to finish the DA.

... spent $800 one oem stuff...engine stuff for 3 motors, bolts, bracets, engine bay plugs... was total of 170 parts on the invoice, I didn't know how spendy it was but I did by a lot of extras incase & many of the tiny 4mm-6-11-12-14mm plugs I didn't know so i just order a bunch to try out lol

 

I've owned two ls cars with a sunroof and manual windows. I really don't think you were able to get an Rs with a sunroof though. I would lean more toward it being an ls than a Rs. Let me put it this way, I've never actually seen a Rs with power windows from the factory either even as an optional item. I know you can mix and match within the ls trim to your hearts content though.
