Do any of you guys have a spare antenna + motor laying around? I'm also looking for the chrome retaining ring and black grommet/trim/whateveritis that the antenna feed through. I've been looking for over a year.

Some people just don't know what to do with a nice car. Everyone has their own style though.

I'm gonna walk into the lion's den on a DA thread and go ahead and say that no DA, regardless of condition, is a nice car unless A) is it is all original GS-R or B) it has a lot of quality work/money in it. Anything else is just a small economical coupe. As long as he isn't gonna butcher it past the point of no return...

I'm not gonna butcher the car, I'm lowering with quality parts then putting a nice set of wheels on it.... lol if thats butchering a car then damn haha. My wheels that I have already are 15x7 I just wanted to see some DA's with 15x8 cuz I might have a good hook up on some wheels that are that size.

Bike rack, amber corners and something dangling from the tow hook are all you'll need after the 15x8 wheels.

I guess that's subjective, personally I think a car shouldn't be for impressing neighbors but most da's will not impress anyone unless built right/restored.

No, but it takes money to buy quality parts.

I consider just about any major mod to a 2G a lot of money. An engine swap done right is damn near what the car is worth! And now you haven't even touched the suspension, wheels, and tires! Sorry but that to me is a lot to spend on a $3000 car. Just my opinion.

Yes but I was hitting on your point B, from above. You said a DA isn't nice unless it has a lot of money in it, right?
If you have the mechanical skills and are good at searching the Internet those things don't have to cost a lot of money though.

I suppose, although you still have to pay for parts. Depends on what you are building the car for. Nice and fast are different things. Nice is a M3, NSX, Supra, 300ZX, ect. So unless one owns a super clean DA with gleaming paint, tucked bay, boost, and rare wheels (work emotion, te37, ect) the general car world will not see our cars as nice. Maybe I just live around too many snobs.

Great little cars, but nice isn't a word I would use fr them. That's just me. Most non-DA-driving enthusiasts would probably say the same. Is it a good platform? Yes. That's why I own one.

I personally think its silly to heckle someone for their choice of mods on a DA. It's not like they're ruining some kind of rare classic. That was my reason for posting that initially. Who cares of he wants 15x8s?

Thanks FelipeIsJDM, like I said b4, I already have my wheels for the car 15x7 Fittipaldi's. I just wanted to see what DA's look like with 15x8 because I could get a better looking wheel from a friend for CHEAP but they are 15x8. This DA I got is clean but its not anything rare or amazing so I'm not going to dump a **** ton of money into it, its low mileage car still so its staying OEM other than nice suspension upgrades and wheels....

Well put Felipe!
I agree with your statement about the general car world too! Sad those faiboi items seem to be synonymous with "nice".

I personally strongly dislike the whole offset and wide wheels thing.

Granted I've had some 8 inch wide wheels and tires however they were 13x8 and served a purpose! LoL

What's wrong with having a 8" wide wheel? Wouldn't your car benefit from a wider wheel at the track? And no I'm not referring to low offset just wider

IMO whether you like the style that someones putting to their car or not, just be happy that someone even wants to fix up a da, instead of buying a damn eg or ek like everyone else

Thanks man, I wasn't trying to hurt anyone's feelings just trying to keep some perspective lol. we're just having fun with cars anyway, no big deal. I'm with you on all that stretch/poke/offset stuff though. Makes me sad when TE37's are a fashion accessory instead of a real racing wheel like it was designed for. But if someone wants to do that, I won't stand in their way as long as they don't try to stand in mine haha.

For sure, I used to have the same wheels as you on my EM1 haha. Saw them in another thread I think. But yeah, post up with some pics with whatever you decide
