Nothing bothers me more then seeing a car rattle canned flat black... whenever i see a car like that it makes me think the owner doesn't give a **** about their car. If a car is primered it should sit until it's painted.
I've read that a 38mm is fine for high boost. It's a problem when you want to run lower boost on a bigger turbo because you don't have the surface area on the piston. This is sort of speculative on my part and sort of what I've read.
You coming!?
38mm is fine but a larger gate will help regulate and hold boost better and further prevent creeping. IMO

I'll be there assuming:
- I can smog the car by then
- I have enough $$ for the entry fee
- I'm able to get myself a new (legal) helmet
(the smog one is really the only big problem)

You and me both, brother.
We all hit up K1 Anaheim on Saturday but bailed because there was a 2 hour wait. I was finally going to get to race Nic and get to show Jason & Arman who's boss. Such a bummer.
Watched the GT-R Prodigy Best Motoring DVD from Netflix last night so I'm sitting here at work dreaming of cars all day. Good thing the Lakers vs. Heat game is coming on shortly to distract me. I downloaded an app on my phone so I can listen to it on streaming AM radio at my desk.

I have signed up for a simple Autocross on March 20th though, I'll see if I'm up for it for sure when time comes.

Haven't crossed over 5500 RPM's in a while either. I'm depriving myself like a **** right now.
It's completely dependent on the organization and/or sanctioning body, so you need to check the specific rules for the event you're running. Some may only require it to be SNELL certified, others will require a specific age. Currently a lot of organizations are updating their rules and no longer allow yr 95 helmets, there may even be some which no longer allow yr 2000. For instance, NASA still allows SA2000, but beginning in 2012 will only be accepting SA2005 or newer.
Helmets, unlike many other safety components are only updated every 5yrs, at least through the SNELL system. There are also FIA regulations I believe but I'm not up to speed on those.

What year is your helmet? I borrowed it that one time awhile back which means it's at least 5yrs newer than mine so I'd expect you're good for a few more years. Mine's a SNELL95 and some of the track day organizers are requiring SNELL00 or newer. If you do need a new one and don't have much $$ you can usually get older helmets on ebay or on closeout for really good deals. It'll at least get you through for a couple years till you're more established in your career and feel better about dropping some more serious cash on a new helmet. I figure I might as well get the SNELL10 since they just came out this year, probably go with a basic Simpson or something, but still they're nearly $500
