lately it seems like no matter which forum you're on, spoon seems to be what all the "baller/ trendy" guys are doing now. i have nothing against spoon parts, but it just seems to be getting played out now just like the other trends i listed
thats just the size that comes with the kit from speed factory...i could make it larger for extra $$$ but i really dont need anything bigger then that for dd and occasional track use. However, these plans maybe scratched considering i just bought a k24a2 long block with trans for $800 tonight lol
every year there is a new fad/trend that "everyone" is doing that is "cool". as in anything jdm, rusted hoods, offset wheels, mismatched engine bays, every part possible in purple, etc. etc.

what pisses me off with the purple, is it clearly doesnt go with some colors, yet people do it. other colors would look better, but no they kill it with purple.
The clean look is now cliche, and the funny thing is some 90's ricer stuff is starting to make its way back, like all clear tails.
The rusted hood thing, i find that really funny because its a rat rod thing. I would have mad respect for the look if it wasnt really rusted, but painted to look like it. The amount of work that goes into a true ratrod blows my mind. Re creating rust with paint, takes so much time. The sad thing is the honda scene i fear is actually just rocking rust, not re created rust. lol.
its the whole hood ride thing, which started with vw bugs.
I don't see anything wrong with Spoon parts all over everyone's cars, personally. Spoon is like the premier Honda tuner in the world, so if they want to rock functional parts then all the power to them!
i said i didn't have a prob with spoon parts. its just people are going crazy with them now just cuz it has "spoon" on it. they aren't buying it for functionality anymore. they're buying it for the name and to be "baller" like everyone else now. it has become a trend now
Mugen is to Honda what Nismo is to Nissan. Mugen is basically an overrated body kit maker and wheel manufacturer in my honest opinion. Don't get me wrong. I like Mugen parts as much as the next guy but Spoon builds cars that are simply amazing.

trends and fads is just how the world works man. It sucks i know, the strive to be original is hard. See i like purple, i was wearing purple shirts before it was cool, and always wanted purple accents on my car before it was cool. I know an annodizing company, and was gonna have stuff done like that. but now its cool, and well it sucks cause now its cliche to do it. But i always wanted to, so dam i guess i just have to be cliche.
Aside from Mugen (because they're Honda factory backed) I think FEEL'S Honda Twincam would be the premier Honda tuner in the world.

Mugen builds race engines for Formula 3000, Super GT, LeMans, and even for Formula 1 (in the past). They built the engine in the HSV-010 that just won the Japan Super GT GT500 class in it's first season.
Spoon cars simply amazing? Not saying they aren't, but you should see what's out there that has been built by Mugen. The most "amazing" cars that Spoon builds are the NSX-R GT and the Super Taikyu S2000, which pale in comparison to the Super GT and other full fledged racing cars which Mugen has built for decades.
Well I got burned there. Big time. I did know all of those things that you pointed out. Seriously. However, I definitely failed to consider them. I guess what I was getting at was applications for the normal EG/DC/EK/etc. chassis. I'm a huge formula racing fan and i followed the HSV ever since the concept rolled out way back when but I was thinking more mainstream Honda chassis when I said "Honda." Regardless, you make a very valid argument against my overrated body kit maker and wheel manufacturer statement. Thanks, I guess?
As far as Feel's goes, they're pretty wicked too. It sort of comes down to opinion on who the "premier" tuner is I suppose. At least give me that...
I still love Spoon cars.

I also just picked up a Victor X for B18A/B18B for an amazing price off eBay. I don't have either of those motors but I figured for that price, I could flip it. If anyone is looking for one, I'll let it go for a GREAT price.
^ Hmm that was a gamble, don't see many LS turbo builds or BIG ls allmotor builds that could use this manifold effectively enough. Most of the turbo LS builds I've seen were more geared toward budget, which rules out a Victor X mani and uses a Blox or something cheap.
LoL, cut the flange off and weld on one to fit your head and use it!

I don't want to shoot myself in the foot, but I got it for REALLY cheap. I'm not worried about being able to sell it at all, I'm just giving first dibs to you guys.
I like your engine bay. Clean. I'd get a new coolant reservoir for the looks, a new master cylinder, and new oem radiator cap though and you're really clean.
I've been working on my engine bay a bit now, and I'm still trying to scrub and clean my hood. So much damn elbow work, but hopefully worth it when I'm done!
I managed to crack my windshield though, so I need a new windshield too now. Very pissed that I did it too... Does anyone know if they have to remove the windshield cowl to replace the windshield?

here's how my engine bay looked before:

and now... it's a ricer..lol

I don't know if very many people in the H-T appearance forum were EVER buying Spoon parts for functionality. Hell, the only reason I bought any Spoon parts for my DA was because barely any companies make decent front/rear strut tower bars worth a crap for the DA. I would've gone elsewhere. Spoon has been "trendy" for almost a decade now.
im pretty sure the guy left my cowl on when he did my windshield a few years ago
