DA Integra's Only
sell it like mattyg2 said it might not be for u...i love my integra i have had it for like 8-9 yrs now and in those 8-9 years my dad has bought me a couple other cars trying to get me to leave it but i just drive them a few days to be nice and then give them back...if you wanna tuely keep it then keep it but if its not wat u want/need then sell
Keep the car, you'll be home a lot, trust. hahah
College food gets nasty after a couple of weeks
Thanks man. I can definitely see the limitations in my current setup now after this first time out. The OTS rates on the GCs are most definitely lacking. Probably step up to a 550f/450r setup in the near future. Some stickies would be nice too. lol
^Sounds good.
A friend of mine keeps pushing for me to get a rear sway bar. I'm still on the stock one, I think I'm getting away with it because I'm on rear biased rates.

Well, these changes most likely won't be taking place until I park it for the season. I am finally able to do that this year since I have another car to relieve the DA of it's daily duties.
I've reviewed the videos and I see where I could have taken a different line, been harder on the gas in certain sections, etc. There is another event in the same location in 2 weeks so I will likely be hitting it up again to get more practice.

^Honestly, I wouldn't jump onto modifications. Just keep driving it the way it is, if anything, maybe give the suspension a bit more room to travel. Mess around with tire temps and if it's pushing too much for your tastes try switching the spring rates around and play around with that. From what I've learned, each modification changes the car drastically and you have to re-learn to drive in a way. Simple things like tire pressures go a long way.

Nate, I liked 550/450 when I was running that years back, it was very neutral how I had it setup. And like Suren said, don't jump into super sticky tires just yet if you don't have much experience. You should be plenty good with some performance street tires, I'd hold off on r-comps. I recently had a chance to pickup some RA1's for cheap but turned them down because I knew I wanted to start tracking my car w/ street tires first to learn how it behaves.
Heheh, I ninja edited my post so now there's two versions. I didn't want to get in Wearedaughters' way about mods and stuff so I took back what I said but anyways..
Colin, as far as the temps, yea I'm talking about the pressures but not due to temperature increases because that's advanced for the type of driving I do. I just try to set different pressures after the car has cooled down, just before going back out for another round basically. To see what the change does to the way the car handles.
I'm not even touching Camber or Toe yet, too advanced for me heheh. I do have 1/8" total toe out but honestly, it hasn't done squat for me but wear my tires quicker. I dont' see the advantaged since I haven't driven with a perfectly straight alignment, so now I'm goign to put the alignment straight to see what that does.

Yeah, I still need to do some research on my tires to see what some good starting pressures will be. And then I'll be checking temps after I come in after each session to see how much higher they're going and if I need to make adjustments or not. I'm open for recommendations on where to start 'em at. I know with my old ES100's I liked to run them quite high, and bias towards more pressure in the fronts. Now I'm running the Dunlop Star Specs.
Alignment was something I did over the weekend. I had wanted to go to West End, but ran out of time so I did it myself. It turned out OK I think and I lucked out w/ not having to make huge adjustments as apparently my "best guess" settings when assembling the suspension was actually pretty good. Off the top of my head, here's what I'll be running:
FRONT:
approx -3.5 deg camber
approx 1/8" toe IN
REAR:
approx -2.5 deg camber
approx 0" toe (maybe a tinge IN)
Definitely wanting to go pretty conservative on my TOE and trying more negative camber than I've ran previously. But previously I wanted more conservative camber settings due to the fact I was DD'ing the car.
I'm sure you'll like upgrading the rear sway, but yeah, you may need to temporaritly adjust spring rates, alignment or tire pressures to help you get the feel for it. I've got a Progress bar, so currently I'm setting everything else (tire pressures, alignment, and spring rates) up to be a bit more front bias until I learn how the Progress bar feels since I was used to an ST bar previously.

I still have yet to drive Azenis on an Auto-x course though, so at those speeds, it really isn't going to hurt to have stickier rubber, I think they are better under those conditions. But still, there's plenty of time to be found with Ziex IMO.

With Azenis I started at 35lbs and found that to be ok with my driving. I marked the sidewalls with chalk then checked if they're rolling over too much onto the sidewall or if they're perfectly wearing only the tread. Then after they cool down, I'll adjust based off the response I was getting during the session. I reply the moments where I under steered or over steered in my head and make adjustments from there.
I found decreasing the pressure 2 pounds where ever the car is loosing grip helps. Under steering = loss of front grip = decrease front 2 pounds.
Interesting you're running 1/8" toe IN. I never heard of this setting, not sure how that's going to work, are you sure it's not 1/8" toe out?

Yeah, you should be fine w/ a better stree tire. Those Ziex's suck! Definitely worth doing some research though, there are a lot of good moderately priced tires out there nowadays. Bridgestone, Hankook, Dunlop, and Falken all have something to offer.
Right on, Colin. I'll be doing a little more research when it comes time to upgrade rubber.
