wouldn't mind doing that myself but then i'd end up spending a **** load of money on suspension and caging blah blah blah...and then i'd end up making it a track only car and well, the list never stops with that one lol

Let me know how that Koni/GC setup works out or anyone out there who would like to chime in on it. I've been debating on changing my suspension for some time, but not sure on what yet. Either full coilovers with either 14k/12k Swift springs or using my 12k/10k on full coilovers or just keep mine and get bushings/sway bars.

LoL this guy, I swear............................
How are they "too much" my Omin coilovers have the same spring ratings as said "Swift springs"...............
I drive my DA on the street and at the track and they don't seem to be "too much" for me.

What full coilovers are you planning on using? What do you have now? it all depends....and 14k/12k is pretty stiff. Will you be tracking or autocrossing?

I know 14k/12k is pretty stiff. It's not like I use my DA for daily driving. I've been looking at the Skunk2 Pro-C coilovers and using my 12k/10k on it to see how it differs from the Illuminas. I plan to eventually track/autocross my car one day. I've been on the 12k/10k + Illuminas for the past 2 years and they're not bad for daily.

I said "too much" because people probably wouldn't buy a suspension setup that includes springs, then go out and buy an extra set of springs from swift. And comparing OMNI to something like swift is LOL. The only way you're getting swift spring is if you buy a JDM coilover, which a lot of JDM suspension companies use swift for the spring on their coilovers. The other way is buying their spring seperately with your own rates. A swift spring is not like any other spring on the market. For 1. It weighs less than a regular spring which takes off a lot of unwanted unsprung weight in the suspension. 2. It has less coils to make a better ride, yet still retain the same performance if not better, 3. It is widely used in the Racing world in Super Taiku Endurance, Le Mans 24hrs, Nurburgring 24hrs, Super GT (JGTC), Super Taikyu series, D-1 World Grand Prix, F3, F3000, and Formula Toyota.

I think you would need a Race shock to actually make use of a 14k/12k spring. Illuminas are great and I love the way mine feels with the swift springs even on full stiff it feels fantastic, but it might not handle that stiff of a spring for a while. Also, depending on how low you ride will determine that too.

my rates are gonna be 10k F 12K R
my car is rarely driven on the streets, its used more for auto x/track days/i feel like driving it

im leaning more toward the RACE shock since it has better dampening for higher rates

the OTS konis are good up to 550lb

X kg/mm x 2.2 lb/kg x 25.4 mm/in ~= X lb/in

so: 14 kg x2.2=30.8 x25.4= ~782.32 lb/in
12 kg x2.2=26.4 x25.4= ~670.56 lb/in

those OTS konis will be underdampened u will need the RACE strut

unless you send out your konis to truechoice...

Which you should certainly do if your running that much spring.

Thanks for the info. Looks like I'll have to invest in race shocks in the future. Guess I'll get sway bars and bushings instead for now.

Do they do full coilovers, too? If they do, I'd like to get full coilovers instead. If it's the same cost as race shocks, then I might as well just get race shocks.

truechoice will rework your yellow for you... still need a collar. OR you can go straight Koni 3011's at about 750+ per corner(you maybe able to find a used set)

I think 10kg/8kg is the ideal setup for off the shelf Koni Yellows. That's plenty stiff for a DA that will see time on public roads.
