BUILT NOT BOUGHT!
I don't plan on going 400whp anytime soon my pockets ain't that deep, but I can dream about it. I just want to build up my DD N/A with at least the vtec head installed tuned and balanced then plan on where to go from there once that is acheived.
DA9_all_motor: it's gonna run you about $500-600 for the sleves and around $100-$200 to have them switched over. You might be able to have the sleves pulled out of the b20 and put in the b18 for a lot cheeper though..
State law a B20 engine is a truck class engine and cannot (I should say should not be in an automobile) which really sux for us here in Cali, the only state that is super strict with emissions. And everything else as far as parts go needs to be CARB legal, engine associated. I'm prety sure what I just said could of be worded better , but you get the general idea. I mean you can build whatever you want under the hood , BUT if popo pulls you over and they pop that hood you're on your own and say BYE-BYE to your ride
You dont need to sleeve the b20 block, the stock sleeves are more than fine. As far as the b20 in cali, since the b20 comes out of a cr-v it is considered truck engine not a car engine. Hence why i see ppl having issues in Cali. Number one fix, move out of cali to somewhere with no emissions laws lol

da9_all_motor: keep posting stay active. As for cali state law thats pretty much it. B20 is considered a SUV motor and therefore can NOT be bar'd into a compact car ie. DA/EF/EG/EK etc. In cali you can swap a b18/b16 into any single cam car and get it bar'd with all the right smog emission but if its not bar'd then its ILLEGAL and you can get your car impounded. but like i said since your DA is already a DOHC motor you have a better chance at getting away with the b20 than say if it was in a EF/EG.
lude72: Let me get some design up first and we can figure out which one looks the best and i'll go get pricing on em! be patient with me
as for dude with the 93 civic coupe: post some pic and keep us updated on build!

I live with no emissions and my brother and I run test pipes on all our vehicles. No worries with turbo or anything

Ok here's a dumb question but I want to be clear since i do have the b20 in my DD and eventually will have the vtec head on ....what headers am I going to get....am I going to get headers for a B20.....Headers for an LS since that's what I have...or headers for a B16? It's still confusing to me.
b16/b18 header all the same.
and as for the test pipe. i dont drive stupid. i dont give cops any reason to pull me over. knock on wood though. i also like #2 it was my number 1 choice.

thanks for the header input.. I can get an aftermarket header 4-2-1 for about $100 from jdmcarboy.com I really don't want to put a 4-1 header because of the crossmember bar getting in the way
Yea we had 4-2-1 headers and it was still hitting the crossmember a little bit though.
