BUILT NOT BOUGHT!
one power wire switched ignition, it comes on automatically at dusk, one ground, and one positive wire to the back up light circuit, the mirror goes light when you put it in reverse. when it gets dark and the mirror is switched to high or low, it automatically darkens, when it detects lights behind you it gets darker. the mirror will say gentex on the back and it should have a three pin plug. you need the mirror, and the plug and pigtail, also grab the plastic wire guide on the windshield, it makes the wires look neater. most 90's Lincolns will have these, they will also have an automatic light dimmer on a bunch of them, ignore it and it's extra wires, it comes off of the mirror. You need the mirror and pigtail. these fit a standard mirror shoe. you will need a very small hex key to remove the mirror.
What's up BNB? I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas
not much going on with my new purchase project, just doing the usual changing timing belt, water pump , fluid changes and going over all nuts, bolts screws making sure everything is tightened up right. Oh then i found this when i lifted my ride

if it's a gentex mirror the center pin is always ground, the other two may be reversed. cover the sensor on the back side of the mirror with a piece of tape, hook one of the other two wires to positive and the center wire to ground, if you shine a light at the photocell on the mirror side, the mirror should turn dark. if it doesn't it's the other wire, that wire goes to 12 volts when the key is on, the center goes to ground, and the remaining wire should get 12 volts when the back up lights are on, most Honda stuff has switched 12 volts for the backup lights I believe. If it's switched ground you'll have to add a relay is all, that wire is important as it keeps the mirror from being dark when you are backing up
Everything done on the car has been done by me That's why I'm proud of it.
1999 Honda Civic Hx Ej7
Bought this car from a coworker of my dad's in 2008 I think for $2,500. He was an elderly man who owned the car since it was new I bought it with exactly 150,00 miles.
The car now has
Motor: B18c1, Ctr cams, blox valve springs, blox retainers, ctr crankshaft pully, skunk2 intake manifold, dc headers, a short ram intake, and a chipped p28 on ectune street tuned by me
Suspension and wheels: Koni/Ground control custom spring rates, Function 7 Lcas, BWR rear tie bar, Bbs rs replicas.
Exterior: type r "style" front lip, fog lights, diy black housings, 6k hids, sidemarkers
Interior: knockoff srds,si cluster, pioneer head unit, JL 10" subwoofer, JL amp, Spoon Duracon shift ****, skunk2 short throw shifter.
Plans for the car... Arp headstuds and boost. Soon to get REAL srds and a nrg quick release system, and a Carbon fiber trunk lid.

pretty sure everyone in here already knows this. its the same debate with eg's and ef's. we all know better, but we all call them the same thing most of the time. it's not a big deal. you will even see it in magazine articles as well.
other than the "type-r" lip, car looks good
haha IF they ever recover my DA depending on how bad she is I might decide to keep her and build her back...maybe. Realistically I don't have the room to store her if they ever find her.
Whats up! As you can see, im new to Honda-Tech, but not to hondas or to cars. I decided to start in this section, as I enjoy working on cars. My current projects are: 2004 Mercedes E55 AMG (550RWHP and 615RWTRQ). Almost all parts have been installed by myself and friends. Intake, Headers, and pulleys have been custom designed and fabricated by myself and friends also. We even designed ported and polished heads that will go on starting Jan. 2nd. I'm an Admin on Planetsupercars.com, and below is a picture of the short ram and cold air intake system for the E55 i created.

Now to the Hondas. I've had them and enjoyed them since I can remember. Finally, I found a nice 1999 Civic Si EBP and I want to start working on her.
Question: Which mods should I start with? It's been a while since I modded a honda. I'm thinking of intake manifold, TB, pistons, cams, intake, headers, etc. not too interested in a loud exhaust yet. Whats the best, price wise and power/reliability wise? The car has a greddy clutch, aluminum fly wheel, and gsr heads and cams, or at least that's what the owner said. Other than that, the engine looks bone stock. Theres a dent in the hood so I'm going to purchase a CF hood and lip from passwordjdm.
Any Ideas? thanks!
