i would suggest going boost cause that b16 isnt going to give you the power and speed you want. Fully built b16 turbo would be pretty fun though. Get some suspension, wheels etc
I really want to turbo it, but don't want to spend $5,000 on a kit. Any good kits out there? What all do I need? I've never been a fan of wheels and the Stock SI wheels are the best! IMHO. The owner said it has lowering springs. I'll check it out tomorrow when the shipper brings her in.

Of course you can....stealing **** from the junkyard could net you a turbo setup for even less. SMIC, injectors ,bov, ect ect. but some people just like the high quality/reliabilty of brand new parts.
im piecing my kit together NEW from Go-Autoworks and have bought a WG,BOV,IC, and charge pipes and my total so far is exacally 1,073$ w/ a cyber monday 10$ off discount.
I yet to have any engine managment, injectors, downpipe, manifold, the TURBO itsself, ect ect.
BUT hadi was asking about KITs, GO autoworks has some good street performance kit right at about 3000$ shipped...and you will still need parts, so yeah anyware from 1200$-5500$
if a person doesnt want to spend grands, his only option is to piece it together. a legit brand name kit on the cheap.
i built my first kit
-garrett 60 trim, tial 38mm gate, real hks bov and charge pipe $600
-ebay intercooler kit (because it works) $130
-550cc RC 150
-SP dp and dt - $300
-cast manifold $55 (soon upgraded to sp qwk 4)
-misc lines $20
-obd1 conversion with ecu 250

sure is.....it just how deep are your pockets are i guess.
hondata > crome
rc injectors > DSM
ram manifold > cast/log
BorgW turbo > EGay turbo
At least that is how much my pieced together kit is going to come out to.

It can go both ways i know.....i just hate buying parts off people just to have them fail prematurely. im going for the old fashion "do it once, do it right"
This is also my first turbo build..
This is also my first turbo build..
so your just speaking for yourself because YOU hate buying parts from others. im not arguing with you in anyway so dont (if you are) post something back in defense. im just speaking on the behalf of people who doesnt want to spend grands on a new kit just to make power on an engine with stock internals.
im almost done piecing my kid for my car. this is what i already acquired thus far
$500 new jdl topmount
$550 new tial 50mm bov and 44mm wastegate
$400 used garrett 60-1 turbo
$375 new 3' down pipe and dump tube
$260 new 1200cc delphi injectors
$120 new backdoor intercooler
$040 SP 3' charge pipe
$030 misc feed/return line
this isnt even including the built motor i put together for it.

I do understand, not arguing. Homemadeturbo.com can put down some great #s from what they customize and make work for VERY cheap. Enough said. I get it.
But to be honest, he had a fixed up 2004 AMG Benz....i honestly figured he could afford it lol

So if I'm going to turbo it, Should I not purchase a manifold yet? Are the gsr cams decent or should I upgrade those also? Great info yall. Thanks. I'll check GO autowerks.
I still have the E55 and am constantly modding it. Just checked out go autoworks. Several kits available. Which is good for a DD. don't intend to hit 500hp, then again 500whp is a lot on a light honda compared to the heavy benz.
Stock cams are generally best in a turbo application, GSR cams are great but you dont list your setup.
first i would pick a goal for your setup..then go from there.
if you contact greg at go-autoworks directly and discuss your goals with him, he can tell you what will work best for what you want. greg is an awesome guy and will definitely take good care of you
I'm going to look into building the block first. Maybe sleeve and bore it then add better internals. My friend is going to help with the build. He built the first b16a crx back in 2000. Haas sport actually sent him mounts to test out.

since I put in the overhead console, my sunvisors no longer fit, they were getting ratty anyway after 25 plus years. I got inspired by this,

I'm been trying to figure out the mechanism in my head this week and finally made the brackets, I'm using the factory mirror mount cut in half as far as length, I made a split tube on the end, it will be tightened by a band fuel injection clamp, this gives enough tension to flip the visors up and down. I haven't made the swivel that locks into the other end yet, it's some oddball metric size, so I need to make one from scratch. it will rotate on the pin I machined into the cross bar. the back of the bar is flat, this is where the green plexi will screw on.
first pattern, after lots of scribbles etc, I made the second pattern from it, it will be transferred to green plexi tomorrow

second pattern

I did good this time, I usually end up with 15 or 20 patterns before I'm happy
new sunvisor shape next to old frame, it clears the overhead console now and matches the angle of the console also

What up bnb, it's been a while since i posted any updates with the teg. Got a few and should have more tomorrow. copied and pasted from my build thread
Brake resevior a member on g2ic sent me for free. Alot cleaner then mine lol

Nardi suede wheel

Battery ring terminals, ac firewall delete plug and es shifter kit

M3 trunk lip spoiler

I have some old school high end car audio that i've been saving for a car to put it in and i think it's gonna be the teg. Just have to figure out if I have enough room to install both of these amps lol

I have a old set of mb quarts still installed in the DA and a image dynamics 10 inch sub to install or I found a kicker substation I might pick up.
Got a few things today 12/28/11
Box from honda came in the mail with the air filter, antenna delete plug, cam seal and a few random bolts

Mugen rep sides came in the same truck. Thanks to CG5accord

So i went out and got some blade silver paint for them and whatever lip i get. I will respray them with a gun when i repaint the teg, this is just temporary. The other box is the flexible epoxy to repair my front bumper and the moldings on the front and rear bumpers

I figured while i was out in the area where the local jdm importer was i would stop byand see if they had anything for a DA. They didn't and i remembered i needed a new radio so i picked up a mad tyte jdm old school radio lmao. The top unit is a am fm mini disk player and the lower unit is a digital processor and a cd player that is controlled by the top unit.

i've painted a few sets. as long as you do the proper prep work, it doesnt take much paint at all. i'd say get 2 cans of each and you should be golden
