hell ya dude i dont take kindly to people rippin me off... so i have a question does the 182 in your HT name refer to the band blink182... cuz there like my favorite ****in band! listen to them like every day and went to there concert not to long ago at the white river... lol
that must have been one hardcore dip cause it would take alot for your oil pan to smack on the ground.
because the z6 is a 3-layer MLS, around the same thickness as a composite HG.
the y8 is only 2-layer, and i think only the OEM y8 comes this way. my gasket that i just bought says its for a z6 and y8, among others.
basically i dont need to try to squeeze compression points out of a gasket and run the risk of NOT holding compression with a thinner gasket.

My gf had a 91 accord 5spd I loved that thing. It had 300*** miles before it died. Never had any major problems. Original clutch and everything, the headgasket finally blew though.
well the drive way slopes upward and with the edge of the road sloping the other way it makes kind of a V so yaaaa. I was kinda worried
with that being said, what head gasket should i use for a y8/y7 mini me swap? ive read the y8 gaskets are thinner but im putting p29 pistons and rods in to bump the compression way up. should i use the thin y8 gasket or the thicker z6 gasket?
well an engine can only handle so much pressure. Turbos are pushing way more air into a cylinder, also more fuel, those two things themselves are bumping your compression ratio right there. So now between that and your starting comp. you have a whole lotta compression, your probably gonna get spark knock or your fuel is going to ignite before there is even any spark which is gonna really make problems for your engine. I heard if you have it tuned for high compression/turbo and run a much higher octane fuel it MIGHT work or if you just run super low boost you might get some life out of it. But I don't really know that much about turbo set ups soooo I hope I don't sound like some jacka** talking out his butt. Let me know anyone who reads this if my heads on straight or if I need to go spend some more time reading
from what i heard the y8 headgasket was thicker being that it was a 3 layer mls, but i could be wrong if somebody could take a pic of the z6 mls and the y8 mls together that would be awesome just so that way we could all see. Im probably going to be switching to a cometic HG with arp headstuds but thats not until my current y8 one goes poopy
i'd just use a honda oem head gasket. somewhere on here, there is a cometic horror story thread. i never used them myself, so i can't speak from experience. but, when a $200 set of head gaskets for a small block leaks oil, it makes me want to stay away from them.
