BOSCHE PLUGS FTMFL!!!!
NGK is the ONLY thing to run in honda's!
check your motor mounts, thats what I have to replace..
just kinda wondering what you guys would do with 3k. all NA no boosting.
my opinions i have an LS so rebuilt and v-tec?
b16 slight build?
or a stocker gsr?

b20-vtec...make the most power na with out doing anything crazy..pistons rods, depending if you build it yourself, some head parts.....should make some nice power
Sup Squad; question for ya guys. I got some 1pc headlights, and I was wondering how do you hook up the foglights? I got the OEM H3's. The plug in end is just a bronze tab with a little hole. And then the red and black seperate wire; How do you connect them? Thanks In advance.
lilvietboy- if you want ls/v and to stay all motor, use a gsr head. it will yield higher compression than the b16 head. and make sure no matter what you do that you use arp rod bolts if you want your **** to last!
and what do you mean "i got some blue NGK sparks"? do you mean you have blue wires? cuz i've never heard of blue ngk plugs. i was talking about making sure you have ngk spark PLUGS, other wise it will not run right.

if you're going to use arp rod bolts its going to be a bitch, you might as well just buy arp rods, because installing either one is going to take either alot of knowledge and time on your part, or alot of money. i know people who've ran stock block and head lsvtec and b20vtec motors for more than 4 years w/ no problems. motors are still running strong
nocturnal, you've seen my car driving around?? hahahaaha you must spend time on tully or cottle road cause thats pretty much the only two streets i go

B16 heads are a better choice because they flow better/more! I would def recommend you put together a bit more money and completely rebuild the block as well being that is probably has 200k on it. Rob bolts sure, but why not just buy some pistons and rods to be safe? "Budget" builds to me are stupid and worthless because HP and reliability aren't really budgetable...............

and matt, i completely disagree with what you're saying about budget builds. i've seen more than enough budget builds yield nice numbers and reliability. if hes smart about buying his parts and shops around, he can find rods, pistons, bearings, and rod bolts for cheap, get the block honed and assembled and still have a 1000-1500 left from the 3 grand. no way it should take 3grand just to build an ls/v with rods and pistons.
i've been slowly rounding up parts for my ls to boost it and so i only have $400 in my parts and that includes eagle rods, probe pistons, acl rod/main bearings & thrust washers, arp rod bolts, and a cometic head gasket. a full gasket kit is only going to run me $55, and a block guard will be under 100. then all i need is a hone which i'll do myself of pay someone $50 to do it and then i'll slap it all together myself. by the time i'm done building my motor for boost, i'll have about $600 in it compare to people spending thousands on their blocks and i'll be just as strong/reliable, and all on a budget.
im not trying to be a dick, but im a huge believer in budget builds cuz i've seen them done many many times and its all my friends and i do.
I'm sure it does for some, sorry guess I didn't elaborate on my post.
Budget builds can work for those who KNOW what they are doing. But too often most "noobs" decide to put together a budget build, which as you can imagine only turns out terrible in the end!
And it most certainly COULD take around 3k to build a good motor.
If the person doesnt already have a head and block that can be costly as well, but for the other parts:
Head work
Cams
Cam gears
Springs
Retainers
Valves (Maybe)
Intake Manifold
Throttle body
Injectors
Pistons
Rings
Rods
Bearings
Header
Gasket set
Etc
I know all these parts can be found for a decent price but its tough and thats a lot of parts!
Why spend the money on a boosted LS to make 250wheel?

from what i understand, you have to heat up the rods, in order to install the aftermarket rod bolts, then when putting everything back together redo the spacing of the pistons. You can make it seem like you just pop out your rods, put the bolts on and pop them back in, its a long process.
