Was anyone having problems prior to installing the unit that went away once you got it in? I'm so close to getting a GOLD SECU, and am sure it will fix my bogging/stuttering issues -not stu stu stuttering

Re: Zdyne users (integracon)
I just wanted Programmable engine management.
I new that I wouldn't be fine with just 10psi, so I gave my self room to upgrade. I am now shooting for 400hp
You should first find out WHY your car is stuttering. It is obviously not going to fix any mechanical problem.

Re: Zdyne users (Bryson)
I'm hoping it's stuttering cause I'm running so RICH (12:1 FMU * 8psi) and set at 14 degrees of timing. I know alot of Turbo guys have this problem, as well. It's usually after prolonged freeway driving and coming to a complete stop and then going. Car will bog, bog, hesitate, then GO!

check your fuel pressure...if it's bouncing around, problems may be coming from your in-tank fuel pump or in-line pump. does the car idle o.k. and accelerate smoothly? If no to both, check you fuel pump...

Re: Zdyne users (Quick 200k Mile Motor)
are you staying with OBD0 ?
I don't think it's my inline- cause I have an external switch with an indicator to tell me when my inline is on/off(Did this after I had it cut off a couple times under boost- Not good) I'm not ruling out my in-tank. Like I said it happens only after long- semi long freeway driving- especially under harder driving conditions. If I'm stuck in traffic for a bit, it will bog for a few stops then be fine. It's like the extra FUEL gets burnt cause my FMU isn't dumping as much FUEL or something.
Thanks for the replies, I am definately getting the Zdyne, I just wanted to find out if anyone else had similar problems prior to adding it.

I have not had problems installing it or loading the software. Its pretty straight forward. As for your stuttering problem. Its not your FMU. It bogs when you go off of idle, meaning if your not boosting your FMU should not be dumping in all that fuel. I would say, check your voltage and make sure its up. Either that or change your rotor , cap and spark plugs. But you will like the Zdyne Gold.

Re: Zdyne users (MIKES)
what size injectors are you using w/ your stock ECU...if you've got big ones maybe that's why you've been stuttering...I don't believe 310 cc's are big enough to make you stutter, anything bigger probably would.
BTW, I love my Gold SECU. My bro and I cruise around tuning my car (it's alot easier w/ two people) and we're pretty close to having my 12PSI tune dialed in...the car would stutter when full boost was realized, turned out I had too much timing retard per pound of boost...just some of the cool stuff to look forward to. Tuning is alot of fun until.....kaboom...just make sure you take baby adjustments w/ everything you do...have fun...
BTW, how did your fuel pump cut out at full boost and what's the "switch" you speak of?

Re: Zdyne users (D16A6Turbo)
I'm just running my stock injectors for now. I have some 450 DSM's on tap, though. Even contimplating the "HACK" till I get my Zdyne- I have a VAFC.
I just wired a toggle switch to my Inline pump. Mainly it gives me an indication that my pump is "on" - by lighting up. When I'm doing light freeway driving, I cut it off to save gas mileage. BTW: this isn't the problem cause it was doing it before I wired this in and I've left it on to see if that was my problem- still there, though.

My car stutters once it's warmed up, but I'm throwing an O2 sensor code... I need to get this **** fixed. It's WAY too much fun to be broken
Oh, anyone know the best place to get a 90-91 teg alternator for my OBD0 B16a for a good price?
