yet another ls turbo setup
here is what im working with as of now
b18a w/skunk2 mani/fpr
i bought a drag gen3 kit off my friend but all i bought was the turbo/mani/downpipe/bov/IC/IC piping
my goal is to run 200-230bhp on stock internals
i would like to try and build this as reliable as possible with the stock bottom end, to start i only plan on running 7-9lbs of boost daily, yes this car will be daily driven
ill start off with my shopping list and i would like for everyone to yay/nay the parts list. im new to turbo setups for this is my first and im a little lost on how some of the parts are used and work together and all the sizes for the parts ie. wastegate size, exhaust size, fuel pressure, injector size etc...
38mm tial wastegate
SAFC
custom 3" exhaust
oil cooler
255lph fuel pump
aem fuel rail
440cc injectors
FMU
copper seal headgaset (stock compression)
arp head/rod bolts
let me know as much as possible about the setup i have in mind, some of the people at my work say i don't need to run that large of injectors, but ive heard they can be tuned down by the safc. im unclear as to where the fmu is needed, wouldn't the safc manage the fuel? ive also looked into turbosmarts dual stage boost controller where you can run high and low boosts, someone explain how the high/low works? and can you not do this with the safc?
i know its many questions but like i said im a newbie when it comes to turbos, and im just unsure on a lot of stuff, i don't really have a budget, just as long as what i have is reliable with stock bottom end,
thanks

Re: yet another ls turbo setup (93dxkid)
is this the obd1 or obd0 b18a?
i would look into turboedit for 0 and uberdata for 1 to use for management. a basetune using one of these should be much safer then an fmu, because you can do ignition retart too

Re: yet another ls turbo setup (blackeg)
I have a b18a running obd1 on uberdata...with a t3/t04e on 14.5 psi i hit 303.4whp and 270wtq. LS's own...dont let ne one tell you differently..
I am now adding arp rod bolts, arp head studs, new clutch, new bearings, new seals, cams, i/m, and maybe porting the head. I'll let you know how it goes But ditch the safc it sucks.
