Wierd Intercooler Question
do they make black intercoolers?!?!
i was just thinking about what i want to do with my car, and i think that a black intercooler to go with my future turbo setup would be awesome, because it would be very hard to notice that i had a turbo, unless the BOV popped

just paint the part of the bars facing the front of the car and the endtanks, not the fins and not down in the IC at all.
i did extensive research of this, you should be ok.
i noticed a teg with a painted IC today. you REALLY had to look to notice it. it was painted black. the clear bumper lights always make me look for IC now...
thats why mine are back to orange

What about putting that honeycomb type grill stuph in front of it and paint that stuff black.....not quite the same but at least you aren't risking wrecking the IC
Be proud! Show off your intercooler.
Yeah...I am proud I have a turbo...thats why I won't hide my IC (once I get it ) and I am gonna get a loud BOV (Turbo XS Type-H RFL)

Alarms are BS. Think how many times you hear one go off (I accidently set mine off every couple days, though for just a few seconds) no one really pays attention...that's why you need a pager hooked up to it. get a page; get ready to kick some ***!
im not sure if paint does anything bad for an intercooler. the fins absorb the heat, the paint absorbs the heat too, the outside air moves the heat off the fins.
Anodizing is a better option.

has anybody thought about anodizing the intercooler? or will that just be like painting it? i dont know too much about it but it seems bettter than painting it...

There I explain my thoughts on powdercoating, painting, and anodizing aluminum intercoolers.
