Default Painting intercooler

Ok my friend and I are debating this, will painting your intercooler hurt the airflow?
are there any special procedures to painting it?

if you have it anodized you can make the ENTIRE INTERCOOLER BLACK.

If you apply a thin coat then you can paint the whole thing. I work at a company that makes rads & other heat exchangers and for the most part we just use black paint

where can i get it anodized?
i would prefer not to because im trying to keep this cheap.
i may just paint it lightly with a laquer.

i would prefer to keep it SOMEWHAT stealth
i dont want to be paranoid when i park it at the mall with this big chrome STEAL ME sitting in my bumper
im gonna show it off but only to people i want to see it.

You could always get it coated by Swain Tech's Heat Exchange black coat...

It will actually make the intercooler MORE effective then what it was.

The black coating will actually release the heat faster to the outside air then just the plain aluminum. It's pretty much simple physics....black radiates heat faster.

it would be your own fault if your **** gets jack. never leave your car to where you cant see it. if your going to spend all kind of money on your ride your going to have to watch it a lot more. the only way i can get jack is unless i get car jack but there is NO way anyone can just steal my ride! you make as if real racer wont know what car is turbo or not. if they want a turbo car they know what to look for or hear for. like i asked before what about your blowoff. if they hear that then theyll know it turbo then what?

alot less people will realize its turbo if i blow off while im driving rather than seeing this giant chrome intercooler.
im just saying, its for added security for when your not around.

exactly.........like a theif will hear a BOV when your car is parked in the mall parking lot though. anyway, I've heard somebody say they used radiator paint on their intercooler.
