Who out there is using water/meth injection
I just finished puting my car together and I plan to use water/methonal injection my setup is a litle odd tho because I will not be using an intercooler I am just wondering what ur input is on my setup and how it will work with the water/meth setup and no intercoller and if anyone else out there has tried this type of setup
My setup
STOCK B16
B16 TRANNY WITH LSD
TYPE R INTAKE MANIFOLD AND TB
RLD FAB RAM HORN
GARRETT 60-1 82a/r STAGE 5
TIAL 44MM WASTEGATE
PRECISION 650CC INJECTORS
AEM RAIL
AEM FPR
HONDATA S300 WITH BOOST CONTROL

water - meth is a way of chemical-intercooling! i think it is an excelent way to go, even better with an intercooler!!!

Re: Who out there is using water/meth injection (adubaz7)
I have done alot of reserch and I believe it will work very well especially for me because I live in AZ and an intercooler can only do so much when it is 110 degrees out
I was hoping to get some more input from others who have tried a similar setup if anyone has negitive comments to leave on the subject I am open ears but please back it up with facts or examples I am not saying it is the best way but an cheap way to lower intake temps and deter detination for street use and higher boost levels with pump gas

Put an intercooler on the car way before you consider meth injection, expecially on a stock car. I run my turbo car on pump gas in the summers here in chicago at around 400whp without problems, if you are that worried just put a wideband in the car...

so imagine how high the IAT's will be AFTER compressing 110+ degree air
intercooler first, then meth if you so please.

Re: Who out there is using water/meth injection (FactionR)
Im running Aquamist and would recomend using that kit. It has been working great for over a year now. Im with everyone else on the subject of getting an intercooler though. The water injection will only come on once youve gone past a certain boost level, so all the "off-throttle" driving youll be doing will cause super high IATs and just heat soak everything. Just buy a small intercooler and also run the Aquamist kit on top of that IMO

Water/alky injection, with any of the common kit nozzles, is going to net you at best a 15% bump in knock limit.
That's a good margin, but I'd rather have an air-air IC and a good tune.

Re: Who out there is using water/meth injection (Boosted B6teen)
Thanks for the response guys is there anyone out there using my type of setup
I agree with you guys about intercooler plus water/meth = coolist temps but what I would like to find out is water/meth VS only intercooler which will show to have lower temps I believe water/meth will when it is hot outside.
Intercooler catching 110 degree air cannot cool air to lower temps than what is seeing where as water/meth without intercooler will see higher temps without system running but will I believe cool air more so than just the intercooler when injected
The results of no intercooler I belive will increase air temps before the water/meth nozzle yes but that hotter air will travel faster not to mention I have saved myself about 4 to 5 feet of intercooler piping wich sould show to have a noticable increase in spool time not to mention the lower boost setting I am looking for should not create huge amounts of hot air (10 psi for now 15 later) If I run anymore than 15 I will add some other sort of intercooling
I am not trying to start any conflict I am just stating my thoughts I apreitiate all responce from the honda-tech users
I personally am going this way for now my car will see the dyno within two weeks with water/meth and no intercooler then we will have some real results to go by thanks all

Re: Who out there is using water/meth injection (adubaz7)
Water/alky injection does not cool the charge temps; droplets cool the IAT and make silly people think it affects charge temps. The airmass itself is not cooled.
Water/alky injection cools the combustion chamber by forming droplets on the surfaces and drawing excess heat out of them.
This is pre-WW2 technology, nothing new here, nothing dazzling to discover. Read it and weep, folks: http://naca.central.cranfield....6.pdf
