D16z6 boost?
ok i have a d16z6 with about 100k on it.......i am putting a new head gasket, apr head studs, new oil and water pumps.
what kind of boost could i safely run? 15psi? or is that a bit much. and i have good compression across the board.

Leave your power levels to a competant tuner, they should no when to stop and what the limits are of your motor... Honestly on a healthy d16 you should be able to see 200whp with out much trouble depending on you turbo setup and such, the tune will be everything...
the engine is in my friends car now and its stock turbo.....its at 180whp now at 8psi. so what i want to know is that when i put better head studs and a new head gasket can i run more boost?

how much psi is not what you should ask, how much power you looking for? like killer16a said about 200 whp is the limits of a healthy d16 i assume you changed the timming belt too right.

As far as i know the stock head bolts should be able to support well over 200whp, i know on b series motors they can handle 350whp+ but i would not suggest it.
If you are dead set on doing headstuds then go for it, and do a timing belt and replace the pumps as well.

Regardless of what the stock head bolts support, 220whp is about the safest power you will be able to make on a stock D16z6...assuming its healthy.

You COULD make 250whp on a stock block, however to be safe I highly suggest you do not exceed 200whp. A great tune is key, and if you would like to make more power, take your time and build the block.
