Default Where to set vtec... on boost

so i hear wher to set vtec at is where the hp and tq cross correct? but just wondering if there is another way or just a right spot to engage it at. thinking well engage it early help quicker spool or if later is better or what?? and help would be great just curious what to do.

set up is gsr bore twenty over 9;1 compression, eagle rods, itr cams, skunk2 IM, ramhorn gt3071

i understand turbo size probably has alot to do with it so dyno is best just throwing the question out there. right now i have it set at 5200

HP and torque always crosses at the exact same spot, 5252 rpms. Set vtec on the dyno where your power curves meet with vtec set low for one pass, high for another.

You really need a dyno to properly set it. Every setup is different so we can't throw out a rpm for you that will definitly work.

I agree. I had my vtec set at 4200 for a while. Decided to retune and I actually got more power when setting it to about 5000-5100 rpms.

only a dyno will tell....

set it first a bit high. like 7t
and low at around 4500...

you can go lower but it most of the time its around 4500-5500rpm for itr cam. play around with it
