It has to be high or it will not even work. As close to the top of the pan as possible! I had to put it far to the right (from front of car) to get the fitting to clear the downpipe.

Here are some pics... do not copy what I did because my fitting almost hits the downpipe.... but do something similar.

Hey Dustin, I noticed the air compressor in the background, have you tried removing a crank pulley bolt with that?

If standing in front of the car the hole should be on the left side of the oil pan, as high as possible and as close to the front? Is that correct? I am double checking everything before I start.

Right side of the pan (where it's deeper), but as close to the top as possible. Look at dustin's:

Except I'd move the hole a little to the right.

It's hard to install the oil return fitting into the shallow part. I just redid mine and used a -10AN fitting. There wasn't enough room to install it in the shallow part, but then again I used a bulkhead fitting. If you weld your fitting on you might be able to do it in the shallow part.

Just out of curiousity did you really try to convince a police officer that your turbo was an oil pump? ROTFLMFAO!

A long time ago I put my fitting on the shallow part, the only bad thing about this is that you cannot fit the stock header back on with the oil return fitting there. If you weld a -10 or something toward the driver side of the pan you can at least just cap it off if you ever have to remove the turbo for whatever reason.

hahaha. no, that's what i would say if he asked tho....
i bought a second oil pan so i could keep my stock oil pan.
the second oil pan had the fitting already welded in the shallow part, so i guess it's ok
