Whats wrong with my BOV? It wont stay shut
I swear i have car gremlins Last night i was working on my turbo project car and my 1st gen dsm BOV was working perfectly, but this morning i noticed that it wont stay closed. It will initially close then rise back open when i am pushing the throttle. Is this a vaccum leak or did my BOV all of a sudden break on its own over night? Any help would be great!

Well iam guessing you are checking it at idle. My 1st gen DSM BOV doesnt shut at idle. (which is normal)...But as soon as you pull on throttle cable you can see it shut. Is that what are talking about?

no actually, but it works properly at idle. Is when i rev the engine and hold it at about 3k or so it initially close for a split second then rises but up even with me still holding the accelerator...its so strange....

Re: (92CHB)
well if yoiu keep it at 3000 rpm you are no putting any load on the engine really so the vaccum is going to be pretty high sooooooo your BOV will be just like at idle. When you throttle it it's going to shut becuase you are not giving it vaccum and then when you keep it at a certain rpm the vaccum will rise again slightly opening the BOV again.
As long as it's closed when accelrating your fine!
